The TFA welcomes Willem Harrison-Narraway to the role of Youth Voice Representative to the management committee.

Willem is an active and valued member of the fencing community and will bring new perspectives and a voice for our younger fencers to the deliberations of the committee.

The TFA have awarded outgoing president Avery Holderness-Roddam with lifetime membership status in recognition of his significant and ongoing contributions to the sport of fencing in Tasmania.

At the 2026 AGM held at Tarremah Steiner School Hall on August 8th, the association elected a new president, Karina Halys.

The TFA welcomes the incoming president. Karina has been a prominent figure in the fencing community for many years, coaching at Van Diemen Fencing Club - Fencing in Tasmania and fulfilling various roles within the management committee since 2021.

The association has an exciting future ahead as we embed our new role as the state sporting organisation and The Australian Fencing Federation affiliate member; one which will benefit from the leadership Karina brings.

The Tasmanian Fencing Association is pleased to announce that is has been granted Affiliate Member status with the national sporting body, The Australian Fencing Federation.

Affiliation with the AFF is a significant milestone in the TFA mission of supporting and developing the Tasmanian fencing community.

The TFA committee would like to thank the AFF President, Sam Auty, and the AFF Board for their support.

At the 2026 AGM, held on Saturday August 8th, the TFA farewelled outgoing president Avery Holderness-Roddam. This marks the end of a significant tenure as the guiding hand of the association, and while no longer president, Avery will continue to be a prominent figure in the community and advancing the sport locally and nationally.

Coach Avery Bonham Holderness-Roddam and coach Daniel Muller recently attended the Sydney International Fencing Camp 2026 - Fourth edition with local athletes.

It was an amazing week of coach professional development and exposure to the Di Ciolo school of fencing; whilst making friends from across the world (Guam, New Zealand and various Australian states).

The Association is especially grateful to Sydney Uni Sport, the volunteers, Maestro Enrico Di Ciolo, Maestra Virginia Di Franco, Ted Elliott and the international mentors Giovanni Leccese, Diletta Gramigni, Akseli Heinamaa and Tommaso Chiappelli for such an incredibly valuable event.
