This Sunday is SWC Rox.

And before we get into the hype — we just want to say something to everyone who's going to be there.

It doesn't matter what category you're in, how long you've been training, or what your result is on the day. What matters is that you decided to show up and find out what you're capable of.

That takes something. We know it does.
We'll see you Sunday. 🏆🧡

This is exactly why we strength train.

Not just to lift heavier weights.

Not just to change the way our bodies look.

But so our bodies can keep doing the things we love.

Aby has been skiing for years, and every season those first few days would leave her legs absolutely wrecked.

This year, after spending time building strength, particularly through her lower body, she noticed something different when she hit the slopes.

Her legs were stronger. They handled the demands of skiing better. And she could actually feel the difference.

And honestly? THIS is the stuff we love hearing about.

Because strength training isn't just about what happens inside the gym.

It's about having the strength, confidence and capacity to live your life outside of it.

Whether that's skiing, chasing your kids, travelling, playing sport, carrying your groceries or simply getting older without feeling like your body is holding you back…

Strong women can do more.

And that's what we're here for.

Last year, the room was filled with strength, nerves, laughter, personal bests, cheering, and women doing things they never thought they could.

And this year, we get to do it all again.

Whether you're competing, supporting a friend, or simply coming along to experience the energy, SWC Rox is so much more than a competition.

It's a reminder of what happens when strong women come together.

The only question is...

Will you be in the room?

Final week of winter training before the month wraps up.

There's something about this time of year. The light's starting to come back. The sessions have banked up. And you can feel — physically feel — the difference that showing up through the cold months makes.

This is what it looks like in the gym today. A community at the end of a winter of work, one week out from something big.

We're proud of every single one of you. 🧡

There are a few things you might regret…

But signing up for SWC Rox probably won’t be one of them. 💪🏼

You might feel nervous walking in.
You might question whether you’re ready.
You might wonder what you’ve gotten yourself into.

But then you’ll do the thing.

You’ll challenge yourself.
You’ll surround yourself with incredible women.
You’ll discover you’re stronger than you thought you were.

And yes… you’ll probably be sore afterwards.

But you’ll also leave with that feeling of “my gosh, I actually did that!"

That’s what SWC Rox is all about.
Not being the strongest. Not being the fastest.
Just showing up, giving it a go and proving to yourself what you can do.

Tired, gaining weight, and training hard?

Your cardio and strength balance is probably the reason.

This one comes up constantly, women who are genuinely putting in the work and still not seeing what they'd expect. More classes. More steps. More effort. And yet.

Here's what's usually going on.

After 40, oestrogen starts to decline. And oestrogen was quietly doing a lot of work behind the scenes, including protecting muscle mass and supporting how the body stores and uses fat. When it drops, the training approach that worked in your 30s often stops delivering the same results. Not because you're doing anything wrong. Because what your body actually needs has shifted.

Cardio is genuinely good for you. Full stop. It supports your heart, your sleep, your mood, your stress hormones. The research on this is solid.

But cardio doesn't build or preserve muscle. And after 40, muscle preservation is one of the most important things you can do for your metabolism, your bone density, and your long-term health.

Resistance training does that. Two to three sessions a week, challenging enough to actually make an impact.

Most women over 40 benefit from both. The question is just the balance, and that balance looks different depending on where you're at, what you enjoy, and what your body is telling you.

Full breakdown on the blog. Worth a read if this has been on your mind.

There's something that happens when a room full of women decide to compete for each other instead of against each other.

The energy is different. The noise is different. The way people move through the space is different.

We've seen it every year at SWC Rox, a woman who came in nervous leaves with something she didn't have when she walked in. Not a trophy. Something quieter than that. A kind of proof.

Proof that she could. That she did.
That's what we're building towards on 30 August.

Your brain at 2am: 😴

Your subconscious: "You know you should sign up for SWC Rox..."

If you've been thinking about it, this is your sign.

You don't need to be the fittest woman in the room.
You don't need to have every station mastered.
And you definitely don't need to wait until you feel "ready."

You just need to say yes.

Come and challenge yourself, have some fun, cheer other women on and maybe surprise yourself along the way. 💪🏼
