A couple of photos of our members only club shoot last weekend. Particularly great to see a couple of our younger members shooting prone as well.

Special shout out to Riley (in the yellow Jacket and cap, who shot a new PB on the day. Congratulations Riley!

Yesterday (19th July) the club hosted the TGS Cadet Unit for their annual Marksmanship Competition.

A total of 27 participants completed a 100-shot course of fire comprising 50 shots using 6x scoped rifles at 50m and another 50 shots using "old school" iron sight rifles at 25m.

Some excellent results were recorded by both students and supervisors alike, especially so in the blustery conditions that prevailed throughout the day.

The top scorers for the day from the possible of 80 and 40 centres i.e., 80 (40) were:

1st Place - Amza Fleming - 76 (17)
2nd Place - Will Neville - 75 (19)
3rd place - Aman Rao - 74 (12)

Top Female Shooter: Sofia Shepard - 64 (12) winning by 5 centres
from Niamh Kelly 64 (7)

Best Score by a Supervisor: Stan Paynter - 79 (11)

The behaviour of the students was exemplary and it was evident that they enjoyed their time during the competition.

I would particularly like to thank those members who gave up their Sunday to assist at the event. It's a long day, and such events cannot be conducted without the assistance of volunteers to ensure that the competition runs smoothly.

It was particularly great to see many of our newer members assisting with the various jobs during the day.

Special thanks also to Jeff Barton for his efforts in providing the food and drinks for the day. I know that the salad rolls he put together went down very well with participants and volunteers alike.

Next weekend we're back to "normal"shooting with a members only shoot on Sunday 26h July and the club's next Come and Try shoot scheduled for Sunday 2nd August.

Both shoots at the usual starting time - i.e., arrive at 8:30am for a 9am start.

Just a quick reminder that our club is hosting the annual TGS Marksmanship Competition on Sunday 19th July.

As the competition will take up both ranges that we usually use, there will be no club shoot scheduled on this day.

The TGS Marksmanship Competition is a long-standing tradition within the TGS Cadet unit that sees participants complete a 100-shot course of fire during the day, 50 shots at 50m with scoped rifles and 50 shots at 25m with iron sight rifles.

The Toowoomba Small Bore Silhouette Rifle Club has hosted this annual event for the TGS Cadet unit for over 25 years, reflecting the long association between the two organisations.

The next members only club shoot following this competition is scheduled for Sunday 26th July, while the next day open to everyone is scheduled for Sunday 2nd August. Both shoots commence at the at the usual time (i.e., arrive at 8:30am for a 9am start.).
