The Preston Pirates are excited to welcome Sherryn “Shez” Medlicott to our Women’s Program for the 2026/27 season!

Sherryn will take on the role of Coach, Game Day Manager and Player with our new Women’s State Team, an exciting development in the ongoing growth and development of the Pirates Women’s Program.

Following the success of recent seasons, both on and off the field, the Pirates are proud to introduce a second Women’s team, providing an exciting pathway for players who are ready to challenge themselves and develop their baseball at a higher level.

Sherryn has extensive experience coaching women and juniors and is passionate about developing players, building strong team culture, and creating an environment where players of all abilities can enjoy the game and reach their potential.

The two teams will provide different but complementary opportunities:

𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 – for players wanting to develop their baseball, compete at a higher level and challenge themselves.

𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 – continuing to provide a fun, welcoming environment to play with friends, develop skills and enjoy baseball.

Kirsty and Sherryn will work together to ensure there is a strong connection across the Women’s Program and that players have opportunities to develop and progress within the Pirates.

The Preston Pirates remain fully committed to ensuring our Women’s Program is an integrated and equally important part of our Club, with the same focus on participation, development, performance, culture and enjoyment that underpins every part of the Pirates.

We are thrilled to have Sherryn joining the Pirates and look forward to an exciting season ahead for Pirates Women’s Baseball!

𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲

The Preston Pirates Baseball Club is saddened to learn of the passing of Allan Prentice, aged 95.

Allan was a significant figure in the long history of the Preston Pirates Baseball Club and made an important contribution both on and off the field.

Allan's connection with the Club spanned many decades. In 1956, at just 25 years of age, Allan was named Club Champion, receiving the prestigious Arthur Wescott Memorial Trophy. In 1957 he had the highest batting average across Victorian baseball. He later served as Club Treasurer from 1963 to 1970.

60 years ago in 1966 Allan was awarded Life Membership of the Preston Pirates Baseball Club.

Allan passed away on Sunday, 9 August, with his family by his side, following a half hip replacement two weeks earlier.

His family has advised that his funeral arrangements are:

Friday 28 August
10:30am – Funeral service at Reservoir Presbyterian Church
11:30am–1:30pm – Wake
4:00pm – Graveside service at Daylesford Cemetery
From 5:00pm – Family and friends gathering at the Farmers Arms, Daylesford

𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗲'𝗲𝗻 𝗗𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗶𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀

The Preston Pirates Baseball Club is excited to welcome Treén Dorsett to the Pirates for the 2026/2027 season, strengthening the Club both on and off the field as a player and coach.

Treén will join the Club in early September as our Club Pitching Coach, Junior Team Coach and Firsts player. As a player, Treén is a pitcher and switch-hitting outfielder who primarily plays centre field. He brings speed, athleticism, gap-to-gap power, defensive ability and versatility to the field. Treén will also play an important role in assisting with the Club’s relaunch of our T-Ball program.

This will be the first time in many years that the Pirates have had two non-national players at the Club at the same time, and we are looking forward to Treén becoming a leader within the Club, both on and off the field, while sharing his baseball knowledge, experience and passion for the game with our players and coaches.

Treén is a 24-year-old Bahamian professional baseball player, coach and baseball biomechanics specialist, with experience at collegiate, professional and international levels.

He has played professionally in the United States, including in the Mid-America League and Pecos League, and has represented The Bahamas internationally. Beyond playing, Treén has worked as a Baseball Biomechanics Specialist, using Rapsodo and advanced performance technology to analyse player mechanics and assist in developing hitters from youth through to collegiate levels. His experience as a professional player, coach and biomechanics specialist provides him with a unique perspective on player development, performance and the technical aspects of the game of baseball.

Outside of baseball, Treén enjoys travelling to new places, learning new things, meeting new people and discovering different cultures. He is passionate about helping others and making a positive impact in the community.
