Great night on the mats at the Harrisdale Dojo tonight. 5 black belts which was great to see. Average time for a black belt in our system is 6-8 years. A significant contribution and tonight we had more than 70 years combined experience. Great session

A huge congratulations to Daniel Martin and Lorenzo Monteleone on successfully achieving their 1st Dan Black Belt ranks! This is an incredible milestone—and even more special as they are the first students from Harrisdale Dojo to reach this level since we began 10 years ago.
Earning a black belt is not something that’s simply handed over—it is earned through years of discipline, commitment, hard training, and perseverance. The path to black belt is filled with challenges—both physical and mental—and only those who truly dedicate themselves to the journey ever reach this point. Daniel and Lorenzo have shown outstanding character, resilience, and martial spirit every step of the way.
A special thank you to Sensei Michael Longman , Sensei Steve Landells , and Sensei Brent Livesey for making the time and distance to come down and grade them. Having their many decades of martial arts knowledge and experience on the grading panel is an absolute privilege.
I am incredibly honoured and proud to be Daniel and Lorenzo's sensei and being a part of their martial arts journey. Seeing them grow, overcome challenges, and reach this point fills me with immense pride. This is not just a belt—it represents years of effort, sacrifice, and personal growth.
Well done Daniel and Lorenzo—you’ve made history at Harrisdale Dojo and set the standard for others to follow. This is just the beginning of the next chapter in your martial arts journey.

Just been awarded my third dan tonight by Sensei Mike and Sensei Brent. It was great to have you both visit the dojo again to share some of your knowledge and a surprise bonus receiving my new rank.
