WOMEN’S SEMI FINAL REVIEW

The Women’s 2026 season came to a heartbreaking end in their Semi Final against Kingsway, going down by just 2 points in a tight contest that could have gone either way.

Neither side was able to break away with the girls fighting right until the final siren and coming so close to keeping their finals campaign alive.

While the result hurts, it takes nothing away from what has been a fantastic season for the group. After a rebuilding year in 2025, the girls returned to finals football in 2026, recording 11 wins and welcoming 14 new players into the Cobras.

There were also some great individual achievements throughout the season, with Lou and Ronnie both celebrating their 50th games for the club, while Crystal led the way in front of goal with an outstanding 39 goals for the season.

Perhaps the most exciting part is what lies ahead. With the majority of the playing group under 21 years of age, there is plenty of upside and a strong foundation to continue building on.

A huge congratulations to all of our players, coaches and support staff on a fantastic season. Thank you also to everyone who supported the girls throughout the year, both home and away.

The season may be over, but there is plenty to be excited about for the future of our Women’s program. πŸ’™πŸ’›

πŸ’™πŸ’› COCKBURN COMMUNITY & FAMILY DAY πŸ’™πŸ’›

What a fantastic afternoon at the Snakepit for our annual Cockburn Community & Family Day!

It was great to see so many families and members of our local community come down and enjoy everything on offer, with plenty of activities for the kids and a brilliant atmosphere around the club.

Those who came along were also treated to some fantastic finals footy action from our Women, who made the day even more memorable with a thrilling win.

A huge thank you to the City of Cockburn for their support and funding through the Small Events Sponsorship Program. Their contribution helped us deliver another fantastic community event at the Cobras.

We’d also like to thank the South Coogee Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade for bringing the fire trucks down for the kids to check out. It was a fantastic addition to the day and certainly a hit with our younger visitors!

Finally, a big thank you to our Community Day sponsor, Monsterball Amusements & Hire, for their support and for helping us provide a great afternoon of entertainment for everyone.

ROUND 18 & WOMEN’S ELIMINATION FINAL REVIEW πŸ’™πŸ’›

A huge weekend for the Cobras, with our men travelling to Quinns for the final round of the home and away season, while our Women hosted Kalamunda in an Elimination Final at the Snakepit as part of our Cockburn Community & Family Day.

It was a tough finish for the men, with all sides going down to Quinns. The Reserves entered the round with finals hopes still alive but unfortunately narrowly missed out. There is still plenty to take away from our first year in C1, with both our League and Reserves finishing 6th on the ladder.

With the men’s season complete, a huge thank you to all our coaches, support staff, volunteers, players and everyone behind the scenes for their contribution throughout the year.

Round 18 also brought our Colts season to a close. It was fantastic to have Colts back at the Cobras for the first time since 2022. A huge thank you to our coaches, support staff and everyone involved in getting the side back on the park, along with the junior players from Kardinya and South Coogee who helped throughout the year. We look forward to continuing to grow the program in 2027.

Back at the Snakepit, our Women faced Kalamunda in a thrilling Elimination Final. In a tight contest all day, skipper Rianna Matulin kicked the winning goal with only minutes remaining. Kalamunda then received a free kick and had a shot after the siren to draw the game, only for the kick to miss as the Cobras held on for a one-goal victory!

The girls now progress to the Semi Final against Kingsway this weekend.

Our Elimination Final was made even more special by our Cockburn Community & Family Day. Thank you to everyone who came down, supported the girls and helped make it a fantastic day at the Snakepit.

🐍 WOMEN’S ELIMINATION FINAL 🐍

Congratulations to our Women’s team on finishing 4th in the C1 Women’s competition and earning themselves a home Elimination Final this Saturday against Kalamunda.

Since launching our Women’s program in 2022, the team has built a strong history, playing finals every year bar one and winning a Premiership in their inaugural season.

It’s set to be a big day at the Snake Pit, with our Cockburn Community & Family Day also taking place. It will be great to have plenty of our Cockburn Juniors down at the ground supporting the girls and creating a great atmosphere for finals footy.

We’d love to see plenty of blue and gold around the ground. Get down, enjoy Community Day and stick around to get behind the girls as they take on Kalamunda for a spot in the next round.

ROUND 17 REVIEW

Our Women braved a wet and wild day at Roleystone with just 17 players, grinding out a 9-point win in Ronnie's 50th game. The girls finish the season in 4th spot and will now host Kalamunda in an Elimination Final this Saturday at the Snakepit!

Unfortunately, the Colts had to forfeit due to player availability, while the Reserves went down to Hamersley Carine by five goals.

The League battled out a tight contest but couldn't bridge the gap, eventually going down by 11 points. A special congratulations to Ben Garbin, who played his 100th game for the Cobras, joining the Centurion Club.

We capped off the weekend with our Silent Disco, before the party bus rolled into our sponsor Metropolis Fremantle to kick on and finish off a big night!
