SS7 at the Manumbar Campdraft Classic QLD Rally was… not my finest hour.
One of my rear brake lines came loose, rubbed through on the rim, and suddenly I had no brakes.
A terrifying moment for Michelle Van Der Wilk — and a deeply embarrassing one for me.
But today, the heroes at HEL Performance Australia Pty Ltd came through in the best possible way.
A package arrived, and I’m officially smitten.
If it can be purple, it should be purple — and HEL absolutely delivered.
💜 Purple braided brake lines
💜 Built tough
💜 Built precise

I’m incredibly grateful for the support from HEL Performance. Their gear is top‑tier, their service is unreal, and they genuinely care about keeping rally cars like me safe, sharp, and stylish.

“One year ago today I tried a bold new move called ‘roof time.’
Michelle didn’t love it.
But I look great now, so I think it was worth it.” — George 💜

So who guessed that my shiny new exhaust flex joint would be a little worse for wear by the end of the first loop 🤦🏼♀️
Huge thanks (and sorry!) to Next Level Creations! — your work was beautiful while it lasted.
Might need to look at lifting the whole exhaust I think 🤔

Big birthday shoutout to Kass Brumley — co‑driver, note‑taker, and the reason George always knows where he’s going.
While the rest of us tuck into dinner, she’s still highlighting stages like a machine.
We appreciate you more than you know. Enjoy your day, superstar. 💜

Manumbar Campdraft Classic QLD Rally is wrapped up for us — not quite the finish we wanted, but still a solid day in the car.
We DNF’d on SS7 when a brake line came loose and rubbed on the rim, leaving us with no brakes 21km into the 25km stage. Not ideal… but that’s rally.
The frustrating part? It looks like we were sitting 3rd Acworth Recruitment Clubman heading into the night stages and had been progressively getting faster all event. The pace was coming to us and George was feeling strong.
Huge thanks to Matt Davidson for filling in for Kass Brumley — calm, professional, and settled straight into the co‑driver seat. Kass, we missed you, but Matt did an awesome job 💜
Massive appreciation to our service crew Jason, Karl and Paul for keeping George running amazing all day. Their spotlight work in the lead‑up meant our one night stage felt more like daylight 😎— absolute game‑changer.
Massive thank you to the Brisbane Sporting Car Club organisers, officials and volunteers, it was a HUGE day and your efforts are greatly appreciated.
And finally to our sponsors, iCar your support makes weekends like this possible.
Thanks to RGK memories and Deb & Lajos Forro for the videos 📹
