WELL DONE HAMMERS GIRLS!!!
Great effort from our U14s with their small squad this season. Those girls turned up week in week out and did their thing - a valiant effort to make the Finals! Our U16s, a cracker squad with many playing together for years, is back for the big dance and determined to get over the line! And our U18s, from nearly not having a team at the start of the season, to winning a berth in the Grand Final! An amazing effort from all our girls. Let’s go Hammers!

🥇🥰OUR U16G ARE MINOR PREMIERS

Twenty-two wins from 24 games paints a part of the picture of our U16s Girls’ success but there is so much more to celebrate than our score board each round and final top position on the ladder as the Minor Premiers.

Our girls haven’t achieved all they have by accident, it is a reflection of player talent, combined with the commitment, respect and passion, by the players, parents and Hammers’ management and coaching team.

In the preseason we set individual and team goals and to date the girls have achieved what they set out to, making it to the finals in the fashion they have.

Beyond the club comp, within our team we’ve represented at the Ella 7s Indigenous Tournament, many played Fraser Coast 7s, several team members played for their regions at the Schools State 7s Championships, represented in the QLD 7s squad, many played at the XVs State Championships representing Stingrays and we represented in the QLD Country Orchids along with committing to school rugby. Members of our team also competed strongly in cross country, won athletics school and district age champion, broke school and district track records, and also played at States for League and AFL.

We nurture a ‘have a go’ attitude, encouraging our team members to achieve their goals, and celebrate each other’s successes. Our team culture is one built from friendship, encouragement, accountability and making the choice to better ourselves and our team work each week.

We aren’t here by chance… there is a big picture, and we are still painting it.

To say I’m proud of this team: our Hammers Family, is an understatement.

Grab your family and mates, get your boots on and pack the car because it's time for the Hammers to head back to the Gympie Music Muster.

Everyone's invited to help with our volunteer contribution to the Muster. Camping is included so even though you have to be over 16 to volunteer, kids are more than welcome to camp and enjoy the full Muster experience when Mum and/or Dad aren't volunteering. Kids tickets included so just make a note when you register how many kids tickets you need.

This year we have 5 hour shifts so there is more time to enjoy yourself after you've put in the hard yards stocking the Muster bars. All the info is on our sign up form but if you have any questions either post below or email [email protected]

Don't forget we also need our Hammers to help out on the Sunday before the Muster - that's next Sunday the 23rd - to stock all the bars and you'll get a single day pass in return.

We all had an absolute ball last year and it's a great way to make new friends, hang out with old ones, help the Club and enjoy the Muster without the ticket cost!

Good luck to our very own Grace Hankinson who is currently competing in the State Finals of the Queensland Country Life Showgirl Awards in Brisbane at the Ekka. We are very proud of you Grace and we’re all cheering you on!

Please join us in welcoming Grace Hankinson, proudly representing the Gympie Show Society and the Near North Coast Sub Chamber at the 2026 Queensland Country Life Showgirl State Finals. 💙👑
Grace is currently in her first year at the University of Southern Queensland, studying a Bachelor of Agricultural Technologies, while working part-time as a Bush Regenerator. Passionate about the future of Australian agriculture, Grace hopes to combine her degree with a career in public relations, brand marketing or administration for a leading agricultural company, helping to promote and strengthen the industry she loves.
When she's not studying or working, Grace enjoys an active lifestyle. She plays touch football, trains and competes in aerial acrobatics, and is a keen Rugby Union supporter, often found cheering on her local teams from the sidelines. She also enjoys spending time outdoors with her dogs and unwinding with a good book.
We are delighted to welcome Grace to this year's outstanding group of State Finalists and can't wait to see her proudly represent the Near North Coast during Ekka week.
