Our first round of finals for our Cochrane Real Estate Junior competition certainly delivered, with some very close games, plenty of excitement, and some nail-biting finishes!

It is always tough to see a team’s season come to an end, particularly after such close contests. Congratulations to all teams on the way they competed and represented their clubs.

Just a reminder regarding eligibility to play in finals. For clarity, in this instance, the relevant competition is the Ladies & Junior Winter Competition.

As outlined in our By-Laws, to be eligible to play finals, a player must have played a minimum of four games for that team during the current season in which they are registered.

Players playing up: A player may play in a higher division a maximum of three times during the current season. This applies to the current season in which they are registered.

This also means that players who have been used as fill-ins during the season will not be eligible to play finals as they have not met the minimum requirement of four games for that team. Simply filling in for a team during the season does not make a player eligible for finals.

Please ensure you check player eligibility prior to finals to avoid any issues at game time.

QUARTER FINAL DRAW – MONDAY 24 AUGUST 🏐

We’re heading into FINALS!

There are a few important things to remember as we head into the quarter-finals:
SCORERS:
Each team MUST have a scorer. Scorers need to be seated next to each other during the game.

IF THE GAME IS A DRAW:
If scores are level at the end of the game, the finals draw procedure below will apply. Please make sure coaches, managers, and players are familiar with the process.

Hi Netball members,

We have a busy and exciting couple of months ahead, with several important club events coming up:

Friday 11 & Saturday 12 September – Swap Meet
Saturday 3 October – Bunnings BBQ
Sunday 11 October – Gold Rush Club Carnival
Saturday 17 October – Gold Rush Parade Gympie Gold Rush Festival

To make these events successful, we need the support of our members and families to volunteer and lend a hand.

Events like these are an important part of our club. They help with fundraising, bring our community together, and contribute to the opportunities we’re able to provide our players throughout the season. They do, however, take plenty of helping hands to run!
We know everyone has busy schedules, so we’re not asking anyone to do everything. If each family can help where they can—even for a shift or at just one event—it makes a huge difference and helps share the workload.

We’ve unfortunately seen quite a few injuries lately, so please make sure you arrive with enough time to properly warm up before taking the court. A good warm-up is an important part of preparing to play and looking after your body.

Congratulations to Emma Franz and Caitlin Munn who both passed their practical test last night - well done ladies, a couple of beautifully umpired games.
A big thanks to Di for making the trip up from Caloundra District Netball Association to make this happen.
Also well done to our umpire coordinator Kirra Robinson for working so hard in the umpire space to improve the standard of umpiring in Gympie.
