THANK YOU, DOUG & JOACHIM

Today we want to recognise and thank two people who have given an extraordinary amount to our club over many years….Doug Rose and Joachim Klein.

Doug Rose is a Life Member of the club and a former committee member who has dedicated countless years to coaching and supporting our players. Doug has coached through the junior ranks, watched his own children progress through the club, and for the past three seasons has taken on the role of coach of our FQPL 3 Men.

His commitment to the club has extended well beyond coaching, and his contribution has been enormous.

Joachim Klein has also given many years to the club, coaching his children through the junior ranks and into the senior men’s environment.
Joachim has spent the past three years coaching our senior men and has brought an incredible wealth of experience to the role.

With two of his children also now playing professionally overseas, football has clearly been a huge part of his family’s journey, and we are incredibly fortunate to have had him share that experience and knowledge with our players.

This year, Doug and Joachim guided our FQPL 3 Men to a fifth-place finish. That is a tremendous achievement and a reflection of the hard work, commitment and belief they have put into the team.

But their contribution goes far beyond results.

Together, they have worked incredibly hard to build a strong culture within the senior men’s program, creating a genuine sense of mateship, belonging and trust.

They have built teams where players want to play, where they feel respected and valued, and where there is a strong connection between the players and their coaches.

They have also played an important role in bringing new players into the club while continuing to provide opportunities for young players who have come through our junior system to progress into senior football.

Doug and Joachim have earned an enormous amount of respect from the players they have coached, and the club as a whole.

We are incredibly thankful for everything they have given to this club, our players and our senior men’s program.

We certainly don’t want to see them go, and filling the space they leave behind will be a huge challenge.

From all of us at United, thank you Doug and Joachim, for everything you have given, and continue to give to our club!

A massive 1–0 win in extra time! What a way to get the job done! They now play off next week for a spot in the Grand Final. 💪🏽

💙 U15 Div 2 Boys
A tough 2–0 loss, but it’s not over yet! They’ll take on Coolum at home next week with a spot in the Grand Final on the line. 👊🏽

💛 U15 Div 1 Girls
A heartbreaking 1–0 loss, but these girls will go again next week against Maroochydore, fighting for their place in the Grand Final. 💪🏽

💙 U15 Div 2 Girls
A fantastic 2–0 win! They’ll face Cooroora next week with a Grand Final spot up for grabs. 🏆

🔥 Over 35s
A fantastic win for our Over 35s team! They’ll play next week for their spot in the Grand Final. 💪🏽
