🤠 WHAT A DAY, GWANDALAN! 🤠

Our Country Hoedown was everything we hoped it would be - great music, plenty of laughs, dancing, delicious food and drinks, and more than a few brave cowboys and cowgirls taking on the bucking bull! 🐂

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came along and spent the day with us. Seeing our club filled with families, friends and familiar faces is exactly what these community events are all about. 💙

We also couldn’t have done it without the incredible people who helped bring the day together.

🎶 Thank you to Denim Music and Blazing Saddles Band for keeping the entertainment going throughout the day.

🎤 A big thank you to Atomic Audio Productions for helping everything sound fantastic.

🌺 Thank you to Elkie Hollow - Fairy Tale Events Central Coast for painting many beautiful faces today

🐂 And thank you to Mad Cow Entertainment for supplying our bucking bull - definitely one of the highlights of the day!

And finally, a massive thank you to our Gwandalan Bowling Club team who worked incredibly hard behind the scenes and throughout the day to make it all happen.

We hope you had as much fun as we did and don’t forget next weekend we have OKTOBERFEST - Saturday, October 3rd and ROCK ON THE GREEN 2026 on Sunday October 4th, followed by the NRL Grand Final.

🤠 The countdown is on… Gwandalan’s Country Hoedown is TODAY!

Setup is in full swing and the Club is looking a little bit country! 🌾🐄

The stage is set, the hay bales are out, the Cowboy Bar is ready and Blazing Saddles are warming up! 🎸

There’s plenty happening from 11am, with live music, the bucking bull, face painting, line dancing, cocktail specials and more.

Denim Duo will hit the stage first at 11am.

Dust off those boots and come on down - we’re ready for a HUGE day! 🤠🔥

What an incredible morning! 💙

70 people joined us for Tai Chi this morning.

It’s fantastic to see this free community event continue to grow, bringing people together for a morning of movement, fresh air and connection by the lake.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, and to Dave Ross for sharing his knowledge and expertise with our community each week.

A very special moment for one of our own 💙

Earlier this year, we were incredibly proud to share the news that Laurie Sweet had been awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the King’s Birthday Honours.

Today, we’re delighted to share these wonderful photos of Laurie officially receiving his medal – a fitting recognition of his many years of service and dedication to our local community.

Through his involvement with the Gwandalan Fishing Club, the Fishcare Volunteer Program, local schools and the Gwandalan and Summerland Point Peninsula Improvement Group, Laurie has generously given his time, knowledge and passion to educating others, protecting our local environment and strengthening our community.

Congratulations, Laurie Sweet OAM. What a wonderful achievement and a very proud moment for Laurie, his family and our local community.
