A lighter day is still part of the program.

Recovery allows a horse time to respond to its workload before the next increase is introduced. Depending on the individual, that may involve quiet paddock time, walking, gentle movement or a carefully adjusted session.

The right balance between work and recovery is different for every horse, particularly during rehabilitation or a return to fitness.

Contact our team to discuss a program suited to your horse.

There are times when a horse needs to build fitness without the additional weight of a rider.

Our high-speed treadmill provides a controlled option for conditioning, with the workload adjusted to suit the horse’s stage of preparation and current needs.

Like every piece of equipment at Gundy Park Equine, it is used as part of a broader program rather than as a one-size-fits-all solution.

DM us to discuss fitness and conditioning options.

Good care continues well beyond the morning feed and afternoon check.

Our barns are supported by 24-hour camera monitoring, giving the team another way to keep an eye on horses between regular hands-on checks.

Cameras do not replace experienced care. They add another layer of observation, particularly for horses recovering from treatment, settling into a new environment or requiring closer supervision.

Drop us a DM to discuss your horse’s care requirements.

Different surfaces ask different questions of the horse.

Arena work, road exercise, beach work and treadmill sessions each provide their own type of loading and movement. When appropriate, using a considered mix can help prepare the horse for the conditions it will meet after returning home.

Surface choice should always reflect the horse’s diagnosis and current stage of work.

A spelling horse still benefits from experienced daily observation.

Appetite, manure, legs, feet, movement and behaviour can all provide early clues when something has changed. Knowing what is normal for each horse makes the unusual easier to recognise.

Gundy Park Equine offers spelling alongside rehabilitation, recovery, fitness and hospital aftercare.

Send us a message to discuss your horse’s requirements and current availability.

Hospital aftercare can be an important bridge between veterinary treatment and returning home.

Medication schedules, controlled movement, wound care and close observation may all be required during this stage. At Gundy Park Equine, we work with owners and treating veterinarians to support the individual horse’s recovery plan.

Send us a DM to discuss surgery aftercare or rehabilitation support.

Thermal imaging does not diagnose an injury, but it can help identify temperature differences that deserve closer attention.

When used alongside hands-on assessment, veterinary findings and knowledge of the horse, it can provide another useful layer of information. It may also assist with monitoring changes during a program.

Concerned about how your horse is recovering or performing? Contact the Gundy Park Equine team.
