Gingin Golf Club - Inc

Today was the final round of the Gingin Ladies Golf Club Championships and after postponing it last week due to apparent bad weather (!!?), the day today did not disappoint. With beautiful golf weather we had 11 ladies take to the carefully manicured course. A very big thanks to the volunteer men members who put in a lot of work to get the 18 holes looking pristine for our final round. Congratulations to Robin Higgins on becoming our 2026 Ladies Champion.

The recent 6 week junior coaching clinic came to an end this week with some very promising results. It was great to see the enthusiasm and joy that the participants showed in playing the game. Donned with their own buggies and clubs and this week their Ripper caps, 3 holes were conquered. We will be holding another round of coaching and game play during the school holidays so stay tuned for more information on this.

Wednesday will see the ladies play a stroke competition for the first round of their Championships.

Nine Gingin ladies recently attended the “Avon Valley Ladies Golf Championships” at Bolgart. A big thank you to the amazing Bolgart Golf Club members and volunteers for their wonderful organisation of accommodation and hospitality over the three days. Boshack worked well. (oops - wrong “Boschack” but a good tour of the surrounding country – nearly ended up in Bindi Bindi).
Congratulations to all players who endured a day of rain and cold winds over the 36 hole event.
The 2026 AVLGA Champion was won by Joy Hamilton of Bolgart with a score of 177.
It was a very close competition with our own Robin Higgins only two shots away.
Congratulations to our Ladies Captain and one of our junior coach’s, Karen, who won the Over All – 36 hole Nett – Polly Whitfield Rose Bowl with 141 and the “Bronze Champion” – Carol Comely Jug with a gross score of 187. Congratulations to all the trophy winners.
While Championships are about winning, they are also so much more. They are about the friendships formed, sportsmanship, plenty of laughter and enjoying time together.
Well done to everyone who took part, and thank you to the Bolgart team for making it such a memorable event.

Gingin's Beekeepers, got together and absolutely smashed a 3 person Ambrose Golf Day on Saturday.
Catering, and Bar duties were handled by family and friends of the sponsors and the oncourse refreshment cart made every hole a party hole.
66 players enjoyed a course in pristine condition under clear skies. A great fun day with modified preferred lie rules from the brook and the rough to help speed up play.
Congratulations to everyone who contributed to an all round excellent day.

Another end to a very successful term of coaching at the Gingin District High School with the Year 3's. Last day was held at the club with the students putting their skills to the test on the course with the assistance of Golf PGA Pro, Greg McClurkin. The students showed great enthusiasm and skills and we hope to see them again soon at one of our golf coaching clinics.
