Come down and support your local Community Club. Social bowls every Wednesday and Saturday morning 8.30am for 9am start. Anyone welcome whether from another club or first time bowling we will be happy to see you. Have some fun on the green and then enjoy a drink and a chat afterwards. Full bar at great prices.

Hi Goodna Bowlers

All bowlers please acknowledge this email with a response indicating if you are bowling tomorrow, helps with catering etc.

Just to let you know that Saturday Social Bowls is at Durack-Inala tomorrow so please be there by 12.30pm for a 1pm or there abouts start. Also please note that it is at Durack Inala next week 22nd Aug as well.

Please find attached the Table for the Saturday Social Shield. A Big thankyou to Marlene and helpers for last week at Goodna, much appreciated.

Wednesday EKKA bowls was a good day weather wise and bowling. Scroungers was the format and congratulations to all the winners on the day, $150 in prizemoney distributed amongst the winning participants.

Pennants team for Saturday 15th August playing against Jindalee at Jindalee. Please be in attendance by 12.30 for a 1pm start. A big thankyou to Yvonne collecting green fees etc last week. Once again please bring correct change of $15 to both Social and pennants.

Team 1: Yvonne, Tania, W***y and George. Debut bowler having a game with some very experienced bowlers who I’ve been told will perform the Haka back at Goodna if they get up.

Team 2: Gavin, Stuart, Jack and Tony. Good group of blokes who’s only danger is getting in each other’s way when bowling and will be happy to give a rendition of a Frank Sinatra classic… I Did It My Way if they get across the line.

Team 3: Mark Robertson, Matt H, Pat and Peter. Debut bowler having a game with some Club stalwarts who I believe can belt out a tune or two. Performing back at the club with their shirts ON if they get up. OFF if they lose.

Reserve: Zaria. The brightest Under 50yo talent on the Goodna Green. Everyone’s age was not checked before this comment, just took a guess.

NO PRESSURE WHATSOEVER!

Remember, make your first roll a Great one and the next Better.

What a Saturday Arvo for our Little Club with the Big Heart. We wanted to test ourselves in Pennants putting ourselves in Div 3 and after a couple of close matches in the last couple of weeks to get our first Win yes Win was an amazing performance. Well done to all the squad. Algester always put out a great squad no matter what Division so to compete and win you should all be very proud. With 2 rink wins and 57-52 on the big board 👍
A big thank you to all the Algester players not only for the way the games were played but also for supporting our little club. We can only build and get stronger by challenging ourselves and learning from teams like yourselves.
Well Done Goodna.

Great to welcome the Durack Inala bowlers to Goodna Bowls Club this morning for social bowls while our other members were competing in the pennants comp. A shout out to Jack Whitten for putting together the concept.
A great effort also from all the Goodna pennant bowlers having a much better week up against a very good Darra team taking it to the last couple of ends to go down by 9 shots overall. Thank you to all the Darra players for a great afternoon. Great to hear some of our players enjoying the challenge playing against quality bowlers. Keep the heads up and keep enjoying the great game of Bowls.
Last but not least good luck to Zaria and Peter tomorrow representing Goodna in the Champions of Champions singles. if you can make it to Algester to support them first game is at 9am.
