🚨 Respect Our Referees – Protect Our Game 🚨

We’ve seen a rise in poor behaviour directed at referees from coaches, parents, and players. This is unacceptable. Referees are vital to the integrity of basketball, and they must always be treated with respect.

👉 Remember: as members of Comet Bay Basketball Association, you are bound by our Constitution and Club Code of Conduct. This means:

* Respecting referees’ decisions - even if you disagree.
* Showing sportsmanship, win or lose.
* Setting the right example for players and families.
* Encouraging and supporting junior referees in training.
* Staying calm—if needed, call the referee coach instead of confronting referees.
* Coaches: Green Lanyard & Green Shirt referees are not to be spoken to.
* Report concerning behaviour immediately to the Duty Games Controller.

Every referee, whether experienced or learning, helps keep the game fair and enjoyable. By backing them, we protect the spirit of basketball and grow the next generation of officials.

⚠️ Members who fail to meet our standards will face disciplinary action, including possible removal from participation.

​A massive congratulations to Marnie from our Lil Gems U10 team for being the first player to receive an award this season!
​What makes this even more incredible? It was her first time ever playing the sport! Marnie didn't just play; she dominated, scoring an amazing 15 points in her debut game.
​Way to set the bar high, Marnie! We are so proud of you! 🔥🏀

🏀🏀Soriyah played her first game of basketball last week she was amazing all over the court and scored 10 points.

🏀🏀This week Makaija worked so hard in defense in a very tough game. She worked so hard and deserved player of the match.

What a fantastic Winter Wind-Up! We'd like to extend a huge thank you to all the ballers who came out and made our end-of-season event a huge success.

The atmosphere was incredible, filled with great energy, sportsmanship, and some serious skills on display.
It's amazing to see our community grow and we're so grateful for your passion for the game. We can't wait to see you all on the court again soon!

A HUGE thank you to our volunteer Coaches & Team Managers - without you, these kids could not get out on the court.

Please forward the letter attached to your players and carefully read through the information regarding registrations, KidSport, uniforms and court-hire.
