Ayurveda teaches us that we are not separate from nature. As the seasons change, our routines can change with them.

Rather than launching into an extreme detox, consider a gentler reset.

Move your body daily

Get outside in the morning

Introduce more seasonal foods

Return to your yoga practice

Create time for conscious breathing

Stay hydrated

Maintain regular sleep

Save this post and choose ONE spring ritual to practise consistently this week.

One of the biggest misconceptions about meditation is: “I'm terrible at it because I can't stop thinking.”

You don't need to stop your thoughts. The mind thinks.

Meditation gives us an opportunity to observe what's happening without automatically following every thought.

Start with just three minutes. Sit comfortably, notice your breath, and gently return your attention when it wanders.

Save this and try it tonight before bed.

Sound has been used within spiritual, meditative and healing traditions for generations.

Sound meditation may incorporate singing bowls, gongs, voice, mantra or other instruments to create an immersive experience.
One of its simplest benefits is that sound gives the mind somewhere to rest its attention.

Rather than trying desperately to stop thinking, you listen. You notice vibration, silence and your breathing.

Have you experienced a sound healing or sound meditation before? Tell us below.

Busy mind. Constantly rushing. Difficulty slowing down. Moving from one thing to another.

From an Ayurvedic perspective, these qualities can resemble Vata — the principle associated with movement.

Sometimes we need the opposite qualities: slow movement, longer grounding postures, quiet breathing, warmth, routine, stillness and meditation.

Try five minutes of slow movement followed by five minutes of quiet breathing tonight and notice how you feel afterwards.

Yoga and Ayurveda are often taught separately today, but historically they share deep philosophical roots.

Ayurveda helps us understand our individual constitution, environment, digestion, lifestyle and changing state of balance.

Asana — movement and posture
Pranayama — working consciously with breath
Meditation — cultivating awareness
Lifestyle — creating rhythm and discipline

Instead of asking “What's the best yoga pose?” Ayurveda encourages us to ask “What's appropriate for this person, at this time?”

We can survive weeks without food and days without water, but only minutes without breath.

Yet how often do we actually pay attention to the way we're breathing?
Yoga traditionally recognises the breath as far more than a mechanical process. Pranayama explores our relationship with breath and Prana - traditionally understood as vital life energy.

Sit quietly for two minutes today and notice whether your breathing is fast or slow, shallow or expansive, through your nose or mouth, smooth or irregular.

Don't immediately try to change anything. First, become aware.
