π’ Reminder
There will be no Sunday Long Run group until 26th July.
If you're building towards a race and following a structured Kraken training plan, make sure you still get out there and tick off your scheduled long run kms. Consistency is what gets you to the start line ready to race. ππ€π€

Today was one of those days! π₯
Alex smashed another 5km PB, running 25:53... and that was with a shoelace stop! π Incredible! She joined Kraken in May and has already gone from 28:52 to 25:53. That's an amazing improvement in such a short time.
Meanwhile, Kimberley quietly backed up last week's 33:12 PB by taking another chunk off, crossing the line in 32:49. The best part? She said it didn't even feel like she was pushing! That's what consistent training does. πͺ
A huge congratulations as well to Alex and Tracey on reaching 100 parkruns today. What an awesome milestone! π
Days like today are why I love coaching. Watching this crew achieve things they once thought were out of reach fills me with so much pride. Your wins genuinely feel like my own. Keep chasing those goals, Kraken! ππ

π§ Friday Thought
You spend weeksβsometimes monthsβtraining for one race.
Early mornings. Tired legs. Missed sleep-ins. Long runs. Speed sessions. The discipline to keep showing up, even when you didn't feel like it.
Then race day arrives.
You cross the finish line... and it's over.
Instead of feeling nothing but excitement, many runners are surprised by a sense of emptiness or feeling a little deflated.
Why?
Because the race was never just about the finish line. It gave you purpose, structure, and something meaningful to work towards. Your daily routine changed, your focus shifted, and suddenly that goal you've been chasing is gone.
That feeling is completely normal.
Don't mistake the end of a race for the end of your journey.
Take time to recover. Celebrate what you've achieved. Reflect on how far you've come. Then, when you're ready, set a new goalβbig or small.
The finish line isn't where your running story ends.
It's where the next chapter begins. ππ
