We can’t wait to celebrate our KM dad’s, our father figures, mum’s that are dad’s, or whatever this day looks like for you. Our doors, and our hearts, are open to ALL as we foster our backbone of inclusivity as the foundation of KM 🌈

Having you all join in class time with us is the highlight on our annual calendar, as we embrace what KM is all about … Belly laughs and whole lot of FUN!

Today we had the absolute privilege of holding an inter generational class for the residents of BlueCare Talleyhaven Aged Care Facility, in partnership with our biggest service The Paddock Early Learning ❤️🌈

When programming for today, I wanted our content to tick all of the boxes, to ensure delivery of only the highest level of standard that KM is renowned for.

Today was all about inclusivity, the backbone of KM.

Today was all about including our elders, targeting their individual ability and developmental stages, and welcoming them into the world of KM Magic.

We introduced our GrandFriends to our SPACE JAM Module 🚀

Using our rockets and rocket blasters to shoot into space, directly through to one of the planets in our solar system, that were orbiting our sun.
The children were able to participate by trying to catch the rockets, and running them back to their new grand-friend, and vice versa.

This activity was both challenging and SO MUCH FUN … it really was the perfect balance between physical therapy and inter generational play based FUN.

✅Cognitive Development - Visual recognition of planets & working memory stage

✅Coordination of hand/eye

✅Physical Therapy - Moving the fingers and arm joints
through a full range of motion, to prevent stiffness and reduce pain

✅Upper body strength, to maintain flexibility

✅Low impact to cater for sitting or standing, depending on ability

✅Directional Spatial Awareness

✅Team Work - With children and staff

✅Visual recognition of planets

I’m honestly not sure who had the most fun, the grand friends, children, staff, or Miss Sophie … But, what I can tell you is that there were squeals, joy, laughter and a whole lot of love popping around everywhere (and the rockets too 🚀)

Taking care of our elders goes beyond our incredible aged care facilities, our carers, and our family members … it’s a community responsibility and one that is never lost on me.

This is a day that will forever be cherished by us here at KM 🌈

My work in Africa, last month, was another life changing blessing from God 🤲🏻🤍

My partnership strengthened with the Rehabilitation & Integration Centre for Additional Needs, in Chichaoua.

Allah blesses us always, and creates pathways for me to collaborate my work in therapy, for the development of all these beautiful children and staff.

This is far more than just work for me, and it’s far more than a collaboration.
It’s far more than me travelling to the other side of the globe, to be with them.
It’s far more than a partnership.

This centre has become my second home.

And all who are involved with this centre, have become my family.

I think it’s safe to say, that there is nothing in this world that I wouldn’t do for them.

It was beautiful to assess the children’s development, after 6 months apart, since my last visit.

I will forever advocate for neurodiversity, integration, early intervention and inclusion.

Because to me, it’s not advocacy … it makes up who I am, my core values, and all I stand for.

Thank you to all of my beautiful people who welcomed me, and took such great care of me … as they always do.
The love that you shower me with has genuinely changed my life.
Your energy, your spirit … I feel like somehow, I belong there with you.

The centre is currently under renovation, adding in a top floor, but was still operating as usual during my time there.
The top floor will hold a sports area, sensory room, and music room.
Basically, all my areas of expertise 🤲🏻🩷
So exciting!!

The children loved their brand new learning resources that I brought them.

As a Musical Theatre gal myself, I personally feel that it’s the most fun you can have on stage as a performer … it’s ELECTRIC and there is no other feeling like it!

As the owner of KM, I am so excited to see the magic that Lauren creates with our KM Stars 🌟
We now get to see them evolve deeper as they travel down yet another pathway, and through another window of opportunity, that KM provides.

Lauren is still performing professionally in the industry today, so to have such fresh and up to date knowledge passed down to our kids, is invaluable.

I believe that some of my kids are set for very bright futures, on the biggest of stages ….
So here’s to making it all happen and setting strong foundations nice and early 🎉✨

Women Changing The World Global Awards

I have spent the last few months floating around with the biggest smile on my face, and a heart full of pride.
I have felt like the biggest winner, even without this.

To be amongst such empowering and inspirational women, of such high caliber, has given me the chance
to connect.
Not only professionally, but also with myself.

A chance to step back and realise how far I have actually come.

To be recognised worldwide, on a Global stage, amongst these extrodinary women from around the world … in PARIS !!!

I mean … cummon … what a dream!

I should actually be in Paris right now, celebrating and soaking all of this up … but I chose to put my kids, and patients, as a priority.

I have vulnerable kids that are very much dependent on me through their treatments right now, and so I chose to be here for them.

With a whopping 9 hour time difference, meant that I was watching the live stream of the award ceremony, tucked up in my bed … through the middle of the night.

When I was announced as the SILVER WINNER …
I thought I was dreaming at first …

“I’m just overtired” I thought.

But it seems that I actually, in fact, did win!

It was not a dream, what it is …

A result of a lifelong passion to change the world through my work.

To create a ripple effect of change in my field, and the resilience, determination & fire to never ever give up … even when that would have been so much easier.

The choice to bend with my obstacles and challenges, instead of breaking.

And the choice to back myself, when there was nobody else in this world to do that for me.

I feel seen.

I feel heard.

I feel that I can take on the world.

I feel that im truly making this world a better place … one kid at a time … I am in fact … changing the world.

And, I feel that i’m only just getting started.

The little girl me would be so VERY proud.

I’m doing this for her just as much as I am for all other children around the world.
