Throw it further.
Lift it heavier.
Sprint it faster.
Jump it higher.
That’s how athletes separate themselves by building POWER.
At Rivals, we combine plyometrics + strength training so your athlete can explode past their competition in every area of the game.

Rivals Athlete Performance
Rivals in the Gold Coast is where rising young athletes come to grow physically and mentally.
If your athlete isn’t doing this... they’re limiting their agility.
Most athletes train speed
Very few train how to absorb force.
Landmine split drops develop fast eccentric loading
This teaches athletes how to decelerate, stabilise, and re-accelerate with control.
Why does this matter?
Because change of direction isn’t just about speed.
It’s about how well you can control your body under pressure.
Athletes who can’t absorb force properly:
* Lose balance in game situations
* React slower to plays
* Increase injury risk
* Struggle to change direction efficiently
Athletes who can?
They move sharper, safer, and more confidently.
At Rivals, we build control first. Then we build speed and power on top of it.

Progress doesn’t mean it gets easier. It means you don’t stop.
Same athlete. Stronger mindset. Better movement.
Even when it’s tough, she shows up and does the work.
That’s how confidence gets built.
That’s how resilience gets earned.

Ollie is not the tallest. Not the heaviest. Not the most physically gifted athlete in his age group.
But over a year ago he walked into Rivals Athlete Performance Centre and made a decision that most kids his age never make.
He decided to outwork everyone.
8 months ago Ollie was squatting 15kg.
Today he is squatting 35kg.
That is not a small jump. That is what happens when a young athlete shows up consistently, locks in, and refuses to cut corners.
And the results? They have followed.
Ollie has gone on to represent Queensland in AFL at the U13 level.
Not because he grew taller. Not because he got lucky. Because he built real strength, real power, and real confidence that shows up every time he steps onto the field.
This is what we do at Rivals Athlete Performance Centre.
We do not just train athletes. We develop them. We find the ones with the hunger and we give them the tools to back it up.
There is no substitute for hard work. Ollie is proof of that.
📩 If your son has that same fire and you want him developing the strength and power to stand out in his sport, send us a DM. Let’s build something.
Box jumps look easy. They’re not. 👇
This is Cooper Folley, one of our athletes at Rivals who trains here alongside his passion for karting and motorsport.
Watch him jump up with full power, then land on the box with soft, bent knees.
That soft landing is the part most people miss, and it’s actually the key to jumping safely without hurting your knees or ankles.
Power on the track starts with power built in the gym. 🏎
Are you landing soft or landing loud? Drop it in the comments. 👇

Most junior athletes don't need more complicated drills. They need to master the fundamentals.
These five exercises build the strength, stability, coordination, and body control that every junior representative netball athlete needs.
• Pistol Squats: Develop single-leg strength, balance, and control for stronger take-offs and landings.
• Isometric Split Squats: Build stability through the hips and knees while improving strength in key netball positions.
• Lateral Rhythm Hurdle Jumps: Improve footwork, coordination, and the ability to move efficiently in all directions.
• Chin-Ups: Develop upper body pulling strength, posture, and overall athleticism.
• Push-Ups: Build upper body strength, core stability, and shoulder control to help athletes stay strong and resilient.
The goal isn't to do the hardest exercises. It's to consistently master the right ones.
Strong fundamentals create stronger, faster, and more confident athletes on the court.

42.5kg → 50kg.
That’s not just an extra 7.5kg on the bar.
It’s weeks of showing up.
It’s better technique.
It’s building strength the right way.
It’s earning the next milestone.
Progress isn’t always dramatic overnight. Most of the time, it’s the result of consistently doing the little things well, session after session.
This is what long-term athletic development looks like.
We’re not just helping young athletes lift heavier. We’re helping them become stronger, more confident, and more resilient both in sport and in life.
Small improvements, repeated consistently, lead to big results.

The best athletes don't just chase strength. They build strength that transfers to performance.
Here's why these exercises are staples in our program:
1. Landmine Push Jerk
Develops explosive power through the hips, legs, and upper body while teaching athletes to generate force quickly.
2. Med Ball Overhead Slams
Improves full-body power, coordination, and the ability to produce force at high speed.
3. Front Squats
Builds lower body strength, core stability, and posture that carries over to sprinting, jumping, and changing direction.
4. Explosive TRX Rows
Develops upper body pulling strength, shoulder stability, and fast, controlled movement.
5. Hurdle Jumps
Improves reactive strength, coordination, rhythm, and elasticity to help athletes move quicker on the field or court.
Athletic performance isn't about lifting the most weight.
It's about building strength that helps you run faster, jump higher, change direction quicker, and stay resilient throughout the season.
That's how we train at Rivals.
