It is with great sadness that I learned of the passing of Brown Shihan, who passed away peacefully this morning.

I first had the honour of meeting Shihan in 2003, and I still remember that first encounter clearly. I have always had the deepest respect for him as an exceptional Aikidoka, teacher, and person.

His presence, knowledge, and spirit will be deeply missed.

I feel very fortunate to have met him and to have been guided by his philosophy throughout my Aikido journey. Although I am still far from where I should be, I hope to carry his teachings forward and pass them on to the next generation.

Arigatogozaimasu, Sensei for all that you gave to Aikido.

Rest in peace, Shihan.

David Brown Sensei
Sad news this morning from Melbourne with the passing of David Brown Sensei overnight. DB Sensei, AKA The Wizard, was a huge supporter of ours, generously giving up his time to visit and teach us numerous times over the years. He owned his aikido and was never afraid to take himself out of the comfort zone and us along with him for the ride. Here he is back in 2013 with a younger looking Lynford. Our sincere condolences to his family, students and friends. Thank you Sensei. Until we meet again
