When I first got cleared to train again I honestly thought I’d want to jump straight back into everything and get my “old body” back ASAP lol… but I actually don’t.

7 weeks off changed my body and that’s okay!!

I’m eating plenty, slowly getting strong again, doing my rehab, walking, focusing on sleep, meditating/journaling and just doing the things that make me feel good.

And weirdly I’m actually really enjoying being back at the beginning again!

No crazy cut or trying to make up for the time I had off. I just want to feel strong, fit, healthy and like ME again.

Swipe through for what I’m doing🤍

You don’t need another recovery hack… sometimes you just need an OFF switch.

Lately I’ve been getting much better at actually slowing down at the end of the day.

🧘‍♀️ Slow movement.
🚿 Shower + Comfy clothes.
🍨 Dessert + My comfort show.
❤️ Red light therapy / FULLY switch off.

I’ve been using my Kiva Wellness | Sauna • Ice Bath • Red Light • Sleep Tech Solace Core Red Light Therapy Panel as part of my evening wind down, mainly the red + near-infrared wavelengths.

❤️Red light works closer to the surface and can support cellular function + recovery.

❤️Near infrared reaches deeper into the tissues and can support muscle + joint recovery + relaxation.

🌙There’s also emerging research around red + near-infrared light and sleep quality.

For me it’s simply become one more way to slow down, support my body and properly wind down before bed.

Sometimes recovery is just giving your body permission to stop!!✨

2600 calories while getting back in shape + FEELING good in my body again.

No cutting carbs or skipping meals because I didn’t train as hard or no trying to “make up” for time off.

Just getting back to the things I preach every single day with CBC:

Protein every meal.
Carbs to actually fuel my body.
3 proper meals + snacks.
Daily movement.
Training with intent.
Foods I LOVE included.

And doing it consistently enough to let my body do its thing.

Right now my biggest priority is still rebuilding + rehab, so fuelling that comes FIRST.

The physique will follow.

The biggest mistake after time off is trying to make up for lost time.

My focus right now is rebuilding capacity.. fueling enough to support training, keeping protein high, progressively increasing strength, movement and prioritising recovery between sessions.

The same approach I use with my clients: understand where you’re starting, have a plan for where you’re going and adjust based on the feedback along the way.

Plenty more to come from this rebuild… but these are the foundations we’re starting with.

Let’s get strong af🫡
