Well, where do I start. Thursday night, loading up for .official in Sydney, my clutch slave decided to no longer work. Quickly pulling the box out, realising no one would have one on hand. Deciding to run the risk, I drove to Sydney with the gearbox in the passenger seat, hoping someone had parts. Well, a 10-hour drive and 4 hours of driving around Sydney, we finally got the $1 seal we needed. Then, off to the hotel carpark to put the car back together.
Saturday practice and qualifying. With only allowed 6 practice laps and 2 qualifying laps, new track, and a complete new suspension set up in the car, it was going to be a hard one for sure. I managed to qualify 3rd.
Sunday
Bye run into the top 16.
Top 16 battle, rain kicked in, and we got 2 practice laps. Unfortunately, my competitor had a crash and was out. Not how I wanted to get my top 16 win, but on we go.
Top 8, - this guy not only can cook but can drive. I put it to his door and got the win.
Top 4, - it was a very close battle, door to door, however, I got the win.
Final battle was against - this was door on door, pretty much from the first entry, and we came home with the win!!
The car was flawless all weekend, and I honestly can’t thank everyone enough. To the boys who took time off work and left their families to come and pit crew for me, to my wife .bradbury16 at home with the kids.
What a killer event, can’t wait for the next one.
