๐ฆ๐บโก๏ธ๐ฏ๐ต From the Gold Coast to Japan โ what an incredible full-circle moment! ๐๐ค
A massive congratulations to Amahli Hala, who has returned to the Nagato Blue Angels in Japan on contract during her season break from the Australian Women's Sevens team.
This marks a special return for Amahli, who first played with Nagato straight out of school in 2023. Now, three years later, she's back wearing the Blue Angels colours once againโthis time under the leadership of Renegades founder, Lawrence Faifua, who begins his first season as Head Coach of the club.
Lawrence arrives in Japan following an outstanding tenure with Bond University Women's Rugby, where he led the program to an incredible four consecutive premierships across the Women's Premier XVs and Women's Premier 7s competitions. His appointment is another example of how rugby creates opportunities that extend well beyond the playing field.
One of rugby's greatest strengths is the pathway it providesโnot only for players, but also for coaches, managers, referees, medical staff and performance professionals. Very few sports offer the same level of international opportunity, allowing talented people to travel the world while pursuing the game they love.
Japan's Taiyo Seimei Women's Sevens Series is regarded as one of the premier domestic women's sevens competitions in the world. Featuring numerous current and former World Rugby SVNS players representing countries across the globe, it provides an elite, professional environment and has become one of the best off-season competitions for international athletes.
For our young athletes, this is exactly what we hope they see.
With dedication, hard work and the right people around you, rugby can open doors all over the world. Whether your dream is to represent your country, coach professionally, or build a career within the game, the opportunities are endless.
We couldn't be prouder to see both Amahli and Lawrence representing the Renegades family on the international stage.
From the Gold Coast to Japanโyour Renegades family is cheering you on every step of the way. ๐๐ค๐ฆ๐บ๐ฏ๐ต

Last month 27 Renegades girls represented their regions at the QLD State 7s Champs. Nearly 80% of the 3 South Coast teams were Renegades athletes! This weekend, 16 of those athletes will put on the QLD jersey at the School National Champs on the Sunshine Coast. They have been in camp the past few days before they hit the field on 5 & 6 July. To say we are proud is an understatement & we wish them all the best of luck for the tournament. ๐จ๐โค๏ธ๐ค

๐ฅ U16 GIRLS TOOK HONG KONG BY STORM ๐ญ๐ฐ๐
And wowโฆ this group was next level.๐
They played with skill, composure and ex*****on well beyond their years. Fast, fierce and incredibly skillful, these girls lit up every field they stepped on.
Before the HK Youth 10s even kicked off, they played two exhibition matches against the Hong Kong U18 girls. With only 9 players old enough to compete in the older age group and then losing a player in the warm-up, most teams wouldโve been under pressure.
Not this team.
Their ball movement was elite, their defence relentless, and their ex*****on was next level as they dominated both matches to come away with two impressive wins.
The following day they cruised through pool play at the HK Youth 10s before facing a combined team of top Hong Kong players in the grand final.
Once again, they delivered.
๐ Undefeated champions
๐ซ Zero points scored against them all tournament
And they still werenโt done.
Four days later they backed it up in another 7s tournament against an U18 school team and put on an absolute clinic, running in another crazy score and 0 points against .
But what made this tour truly special wasnโt just what they did on the field.
Off the field, these girls represented Renegades with class โ showing incredible sportsmanship, embracing a new culture, building new friendships and completely falling in love with the opportunities that overseas sport can create.
This is what international tours are all about ๐โค๏ธ
A huge thank you to our incredible coaches, managers, families, supporters and sponsors who helped make this opportunity possible. These experiences donโt happen without the people behind the scenes who invest their time, energy and support into our athletes.
The future is incredibly bright for this group, and we canโt wait to watch their journey unfold.

Awesome first preseason game for Renegades Alumni Ava Wereta. After debuting for the Wallaroos earlier this year we are looking forward to her stamping her mark in the Super W when the season kicks off in a couple of weeks. Also playing in the Reds team over the weekend, was fellow Renes Evie Sampson & Kaelyn Passi who contributed to the 52-12 thrashing of the Brumbies in Canberra. ๐๐ช๐จ
