In preparation for the 3DAAA sanctioned shoot being held at Hinterland Field Archers on the 15th and 16th August 2026, several working bees have been scheduled so that we can ensure this year, like every year HFA puts on a good show for the rest of the Archers across QLD.
If you can spare some time, even an hour or two on any of the days below, please come over to the club, talk to Richard and we will be able to find something for you to do.
Whilst the working bees are running from appx. 730 AM to mid afternoon (usually) the club grounds will not be available for archers to practice. Neither the sighting in range, the practice range, the training range or any of the bush ranges will be open.
Upcoming Working bees are as follows
(This weekend) Saturday 25th July 2026
(Next Weekend) Saturday 1st August 2026
The weekend prior to the sanctioned shoot
Saturday 8th August 2026
Sunday 9th August 2026
Sanctioned shoot is on the 15th and 16th August 2026, 50 3D targets over 5 ranges and 2 days across the expansive HFA property.
Don't let that deter you from coming to help. The effort of our club membes is always appreciated, and never ignored.

They shall grow not old,
as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them,
nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun
and in the morning
We will remember them.

And another year passes, I remind our Hinterland Family that whether your heritage on this land goes back a thousand years on this land, if you are descendant of a settler or a convict, or you and your family have come to this land recently to call Australia home, Please take a moment on the 25th of April to consider the ultimate sacrifice made by our Armed forces long in the past and in recent conflict, and to give the respect due to those who continue to put their hand up as the willing to do the same now and into the future. Those who have and continue to give up so much so that we can have the lives we have today. Give them a moment of your mind to reflect, as they have given up their lives for your freedom

I give credit to the Anzac Day commemoration committee for the following;
The following was written by Pericles well over two thousand years ago, long before the first ANZAC Day, but only a stone’s throw from Gallipoli:
Each has won a glorious grave - not that sepulchre of earth wherein they lie, but the living tomb of everlasting remembrance wherein their glory is enshrined. For the whole earth is the sepulchre of heroes. Monuments may rise and tablets be set up to them in their own land, but on far-off shores there is an abiding memorial that no pen or chisel has traced; it is graven not on stone or brass, but on the living hearts of humanity. Take these men for your example. Like them, remember that prosperity can be only for the free, that freedom is the sure possession of those alone who have the courage to defend it
