Going over a few things today in the shed. As I turned to switch off the light I realised what a massive bonnet we have. It just doesn’t look right. If you or anyone you know would like to support us and improve the look of the car at the same time, we are happy to hear from you. We reckon a nice big business logo would make a huge difference.

We have had a bit of a sit back and reflect after our first real test in race conditions and have identified quite a few areas where we can improve. While we are taking another hiatus from track time due to financial constraints we have been looking further into the potential of the XR 5 platform and seeing these 5 cylinder engines making some serious numbers. If there’s anyone out there who wants to contribute to the cause and maybe share a drive and help raise funds for rare cancers Australia we would love to have a chat. Help us out. Do some racing with us. Advertise your business and claim the deductions.

After much consideration we won’t be able to attend the clippy cup at Queensland raceway this month. Budgetary constraints and the need to do more development work are diagrammatically opposed and there’s only so many dollars we can spend so we will continue to work on development of the car. Hoping to make Bathurst in November šŸ¤ž

First event in the books. After running a few reasonably quick laps it became apparent the car just wouldn’t behave through certain corners which meant tyres were becoming a concern to get us through the event without stopping for a change. Refueling was also a challenge with the way the fuel filler is on these cars so the strategy became more about getting fuel in and running consistent laps without tearing up the tyres. With about 40 minutes left of the 7 hours something let go in the left front. With track time more important than a tyre change and repairs the call was made to stay out and circulate rather than spend time in the pits. Making it through the 7 hours seemed unlikely even before the event, with a lot of unknowns so we are happy to have finished. None of this comes easy so many thanks to out to all who contributed. None more than OEM Denied Performance, Onesol Contracting and Pulsestart Training Solutions Pty Ltd. There’s not much left in the old girl but small gains still to be unlocked. Seeing the chequered flag at the end of the day was reward enough but we also brought home the Old Uncle Moe’s Hot Sauce award for best presented car on the day. Raising funds for Rare Cancers Australia.

Limped home to finish the event. Pretty happy with that.

Ready for our first race day šŸŽ

Race day is here. We’ve done everything we can possibly do with a few little things to be sorted at the track. 7 hours track time right ahead. Just to finish will be an achievement. šŸ¤ž
