Commando Regiment, during the action in Afghanistan that would see him posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross.
On 22 June 2013, during an operation in Ghawchak, Uruzgan Province, Baird repeatedly led his team forward against a heavily defended enemy position under intense fire.
He assaulted the position multiple times, and when his M4 stopped functioning, he withdrew, rectified the stoppage, redistributed ammunition among his team and went forward again.
On his final assault, Baird was killed at the entrance to the enemy position.
His actions helped his team gain the foothold needed to clear the position and complete the mission.
Today, his combat-damaged M4 carbine with underslung 40 mm gr***de launcher is preserved by the Australian War Memorial, still bearing physical traces of its final use in Afghanistan.
Baird’s carbine represents an
extraordinary act of courage in modern Australian military history.

Hi Everyone,

Every show at BEAST Championship , we get asked for merchandise. We only stock a small amount, but I wanted to open up the pre-order to allow anyone till next Friday (28th of August) the chance to jump onto the fast turn around preorder.

The other reason for me, is I will be putting $10 from every pre-order into buying presents for my A BEASTLY Christmas event on the 12th of December. The event is purely a community event aimed at raising funds or collecting as many presents as possible, to donate to the kids in a single afternoon at the Gladstone Show Society.

20 August 2010: In memory of Private Grant Kirby and Private Tomas Dale, were on patrol during operations in the Baluchi Valley when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) detonated killing both men instantly.

Grant was a 35-year-old father of two girls from Brisbane, he was on his first deployment in Afghanistan, having previously deployed to Iraq and East Timor. Private Tomas Dale was aged 21, from Reynella in South Australia, he was on his first deployment in Afghanistan.
My thoughts are with my 6RAR brothers and sisters and our MTF1 family.
My thoughts and prayers are with both families and friends today. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.
