Much needed recovery day.
Life is pretty fu***ng heavy right now. Probably the heaviest it’s been in a very long time.
Between being a dad, work, family and everything happening behind the scenes, I’ve done what I usually do, put myself last and just keep moving.
But today I needed an escape.
Not from my responsibilities. Not from what needs to be done. Just an hour or two to switch the head off, recover and do something for myself.
Anyone who knows me knows I fu***ng hate the cold plunge 😂
Today I went cold plunge → magnesium hot pool → straight back into the cold.
And weirdly enough, I could’ve stayed there.
Probably says a fair bit about where my head is at right now.
Testing times test your character.
Right now, my priorities are simple: protect my family, stay true to who I am, keep showing up and get through the next day, week and month in front of me.
Today, showing up meant slowing down.
A very, very needed afternoon at Drip Recovery. ❤️

Everyone wants strong legs.
But a lot of people still treat glute training like it only matters if the goal is growing an ass. 🍑
For me, it’s much bigger than that.
I want clients who can sprint, jump, lift, change direction, tolerate load and keep doing those things for a bloody long time.
That means building hips that aren’t just strong in one exercise, one position or one plane of movement.
Whether your goal is performance, getting stronger, staying out of the rehab cycle or simply being more physically capable, train your fu***ng glutes.
The peach is just a bonus. 🍑

Almost two years of Meg. ❤️
When Meg and I first started working together, there was no real consistency with training, no nutritional structure, and we had some lower-back and knee issues to work around.
Add in her limb proportions, strength training wasn’t always going to be as simple as just loading the bar and getting stronger.
We had to teach, adapt, build and be patient.
And it hasn’t been a perfect two years.
There have been life hurdles. Weeks where training wasn’t the priority. Times where simply showing up and doing something was the win.
But that’s exactly why I’m so proud of what she’s achieved.
I’ve always said that consistency doesn’t mean giving 100% every single day.
Sometimes your best is 100%.
Sometimes it’s 70%.
Sometimes it’s 30%.
You just give the best you have available to you at the time.
Slide 1 → Meg almost two years ago.
Slide 2 → Meg today.
Slide 3 → Taking that strength, control and skill into 1¼ sumo RDLs.
The physical transformation speaks for itself — absolutely immaculate. 🔥
But what I’m most proud of isn’t just the physique she’s built.
She’s stronger. She’s more capable. She’s more resilient.
And through everything life has thrown at her, I’ve watched her become an even stronger partner, mum and person.
Nearly two years in, and this is what happens when you stop chasing perfection and just keep choosing to show up.
Consistency over perfection. Every time.
Proud of you Meg. ❤️

I’ve told plenty of clients over the years:
“Just show up.”
When sleep is lacking.
When nutrition is all over the place.
When focus is somewhere else entirely.
When life outside the gym is taking everything you’ve got.
I’ve supported clients through some incredibly difficult periods and reminded them that not every session needs to be about progression.
Sometimes maintaining is progressing.
Now I’m having to take my own advice.
My sleep isn’t where it should be.
My nutrition hasn’t been a priority.
My focus is elsewhere.
And my training performance reflects that.
Right now, I’m not walking into the gym expecting PBs or perfect sessions.
I’m showing up.
Moving some weight.
Keeping some routine.
Giving myself an hour to switch off.
Because sometimes training isn’t about becoming stronger.
Sometimes it’s about having something familiar to hold onto while life demands your strength somewhere else.
So, for now, just show up.

1 year married. 6 years together. 2 beautiful kids and a life I feel incredibly blessed to share with you. ❤️
Thank you for being the rock of our house, the one who holds us together through the chaos, and the person I know I can always count on.
We’ve already built so much together, but the best part is knowing we’re still only getting started.
Happy 1st wedding anniversary, my love. Here’s to growing together, raising our babies, chasing our dreams and building a life we’ll be proud to look back on. ❤️
Forever you. Forever us.
