🏆 WINTER WINDUP 🏆

Wrapping up another successful season for the club, last weekend’s winter windup was a chance to come together, recognise achievements, celebrate milestones and show appreciation for the volunteers who we couldn’t do without!

We also held our AGM prior to our presentations and welcomed our new committee for the coming year.

This winter, we had 115 registered players and 15 teams ranging from U10 to Senior. Five teams earned a spot in the finals, with two (U12 Boys Gladiators and Senior Men Brickshots) going on to take home a grand final win! Our Senior Mixed team (Giraffes) were awarded the Bob Little Cup recipients, finishing on top of the ladder for the 6th consecutive season!

Congratulations to all of our teams, players, volunteers and supporters on a fantastic season 👏

We can’t wait do it all again when the summer season kicks off in just a couple of weeks! Keep an eye on your emails over the coming days as we announce teams and provide more information regarding the upcoming season.

📢 SUMMER REGISTRATIONS ARE CLOSING!

Thank you to everyone who has registered for the summer season so far! We're super excited to have you on board!

We will be closing registrations in the coming days, so if you plan to play or know someone who wants to, we kindly ask you to register as soon as you can. This will help us to form and submit our teams, allocate volunteers and ensure we’re ready to go!

Our AGM is next month!

Parents, senior players, coaches, team managers and all other club members are warmly invited to attend our Annual General Meeting.

⏰ 3pm
🗓️ Saturday 19th September
📍 Gidge Rec Club (1990 Toodyay Rd, Gidge)

Come along to find out what’s happening behind the scenes of the club. We’ll also be electing committee members for the next 12 months, so if you’d like to have your say in the future of our club, we’d love you to nominate for a position.

There are plenty of roles available, or you can simply volunteer as a General Committee Member and help out whenever needed. The more enthusiastic helping hands we have, the more we can achieve and the more opportunities we can create for our players and our club.

Many of our current committee members will be sticking around for another year if elected, however, all positions will be open for nomination.

If you’d like to join our committee, please contact the club for a copy of our nomination form. You can also contact us if you’d like more information about the responsibilities of a particular position.

The Committee has recently revised the Club’s Constitution and By-Laws, with plans to introduce two new policies. The revised documents are available for members to review and will be voted on at the AGM.

Summer basketball is just around the corner and registrations are already open! 🏀

Beginner players are invited to join our experienced coaches and committee members THIS SATURDAY afternoon at the Gidge Rec Club courts for our annual Come & Try Day. It’s a chance to learn about our club, the season, how to register, what’s involved in coaching/managing - and of course, try out some FUNdamental basketball skills!

If you have a child/teen who is a little unsure about playing in a domestic competition or you’re a new coach wanting to get involved for the first time, our Come & Try Day is the perfect opportunity to have a go at basketball before committing to a team.

We’d love you to bring a friend or two, even if they have played before. Participants don’t need to live in Gidge to play for our club. Everyone is welcome!

⏰ 3pm start, Saturday 22nd August
📍 Gidge Rec Club courts
👟 Wear suitable shoes and casual clothes
💦 Bring a drink bottle
🏀 Bring a ball if you have one
💲 FREE
⛹️‍♂️ Age - all! (but players must turn at least 6yo in 2026)
