PWA World Tour Windsurfing

29 World Titles and counting… it was another extremely successful Canaries summer for Sarah-Quita as she took two event wins and a 2nd place to secure her 17th Freestyle World Title and also leave her prominently placed to mount another challenge for the wave world title heading into the 2nd half of the season!

We caught up with her for an interview, whilst in between sessions in Hood River where she’s been going for Shiftys 🤯 and you can check it out on pwaworldtour.com

WORLD RANKINGS • MENS SLALOM-X • FINAL RANKINGS 2026

In the career-long battle between Matteo Iachino and Pierre Mortefon, it was Iachino who reigned supreme in 2026, finally getting his hands on a Slalom X World Title to take his PWA World Title tally up to 4. It was a dominant performance from the Italian who looked on it from the word go and finished the week only counting top two results after 11 eliminations. Pierre Mortefon was up there challenging him, and won three of the last four eliminations to put in a late charge for the title, but it was too little too late and he had to settle up for second place this season as his undefeated run in the Slalom X Overall Rankings comes to an end.

Maciek Rutkowski takes third place in 2026 but he did not make his event easy - he was pretty much down and out after the first two days but climbed up the ranks and never gave up to find himself on the overall podium at the end of the season for the 5th time in 5 years.

The battle for fourth fifth and sixth went down to the final day and ended with Amado Vrieswijk in 4th, Nico Prien in 5th and Jimmy Thieme in 6th - all with career best results in Slalom-X! Taty Frans and Bruno Martini finished in seventh and eighth respectively, with both riders putting in multiple top 3 results throughout the week but couldn’t quite find the consistency needed to battle for the top positions. Benoit Merceur and Lohan Jules complete the top 10 and along with Jimmy Thieme represent a strong young force coming from France. After their performances in Fuerteventura this year, it won’t be long before these guys are winning eliminations and battling for the podiums.

WORLD RANKINGS • WOMENS SLALOM-X • FINAL RANKINGS 2026

It was Justine Lemeteyer who ultimately took the glory in 2026 for the Women’s Slalom-X but it could not have been closer going into the final day in Fuerteventura! In the end four wins in a row for the French woman gave her the title, with Femke van der Veen in 2nd and Jenna Gibson in 3rd.

For Lemeteyer, it’s her maiden Slalom X world title, whilst it’s also a career best result for van der Veen improving on her third place from last year. Gibson lead for much of the week, but couldn’t quite overcome the chasing pack after battling an illness throughout the competition.

Just off the podium and equalling her career best finish is Bobbi-Lynn De Jong in 4th, who also won the under 55kg division in Fuerteventura. She was tied on points in the event with Maé Davico, but won on the tiebreak leaving Mae in 5th place but a career best result for her on fin.

Blanca Alabau and Marion Mortefon had some epic battles throughout the event and were chopping and changing places. Ultimately, Alabau finished on top taking 6th place, with Mortefon, who is still recovering from giving birth last year, in 7th.

Lola Brotschi-Eibel rounds out the top 8 in her maiden competition - she came into the event as a Defi Wind 💨 wildcard and proved she was more than capable after some great battles with the other younger riders - Kit De Jong who finishes 9th and Louise van der Meulen in 10th.

Here are the final standings for the women’s freestyle from 2026! After a thrilling world title showdown between Maaike Huvermann and Sarah-Quita Offringa in Fuerteventura, Sarah-Quita came out on top to take her 17th Freestyle crown, but Maaike made it a closer run than ever before! Congratulations to Lisa Kloster for making back to back podiums, as well as Sandra Schill making 4th in the World on her tour debut season!

WORLD RANKINGS • MENS FREESTYLE • AFTER 1 EVENT

After Fuerteventura, this is how the Men’s Freestyle World Rankings are shaping up. Lennart Neubauer leads the charge over Yentel Caers, and Balz Muller enters the top 3 for the first time. The top 10 comprises a mix of legends and up and coming talent, showing that the next generation are coming up quick, but when it comes to heat strategy, experience still plays a massive role!
