🚨Victorian Country Cricket League Selection 🚨

A huge Congratulations to Luke Ford who has been selected in the Victorian Country Cricket League Team of the Year.

After a club record breaking season with 690 runs @ 86.30 and 16 wickets @ 20.90, Luke is being recognised for all his hard work and leading from the front as a captain and coach of the club.

After a remarkable season taking home our very own Jack Paley medal for a 4th time, winning the league batting average and champion player, while also being the first St Peter’s player to win the Jack Sing Medal, Luke has also now doubled up with being the first St Peter’s player to make the VCCL Team of the Year.

BEST 2nd GRADE PLAYER
The John O’Loughlin Memorial Award

Ross Elliot not only had a great season with the bat in 2nd Grade, but he produced the best batting performance in that grade in the club’s 25 seasons. Named as captain at the start of the season, Ross played 15 matches scoring 757 runs at an average of 58.23. This was 150 more than the 2nd Grade record of 607 scored by John McLoughlin in 2006-07. It was also the best in the 2nd Grade competition–103 more than next best. He scored 2 centuries in the same match and on the same day against eventual premiers Manly-Warringah at Coogee. It was a first for the club and records show it was the first time that any batter had scored centuries in each innings of a 2nd Grade match in Premier Cricket. He could have added to that centuries record had he not been dismissed for 97 against UTS North Sydney
and 95 playing Fairfield-Liverpool.

Promoted to 1st Grade for what was the last round of the preliminary matches, Ross knocked up a century against Gordon at Coogee Oval. He was just the third player for the club to make a hundred on debut. He completed the season in 1st Grade ending with 130 runs to give him a season total of 887–second only to Param Uppal across the club.

GCA Major sponsor Lawn Addicts have again arranged for a Curators workshop to be conducted at the end of August.
