It is with deep sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Kellie Thistlethwaite; a cherished member of the Geelong West Cricket Club community.

Kellie was a former player of our women’s cricket program and someone whose warmth, kindness and infectious energy left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She had a beautiful way of making people feel welcome, and her positive spirit was felt both on and off the field.

The Thistlethwaite family have been valued members of the Rams for many years. We send our deepest condolences to our highly regarded current senior women’s player Laura and former player Holly and their Dad Rob at this time of tragedy. Take comfort in knowing that your wonderful Mum and Wife meant so much to so many, not only at the Rams, but in the wider community. Be proud of the legacy she has left and know that the GWCC will walk beside you in your grief.

We’re thrilled to welcome Charlie-George Eldridge back to Geelong West for the 2026/27 season.

Charlie was outstanding last season, taking 31 wickets at an incredible average of just 14, while also fitting seamlessly into our club culture both on and off the field.

We can’t wait to see him back in the Rams colours and leading the attack once again.

After a year away developing his game in 1st XI cricket, Monty returns home to the Rams ready to make an impact. A talented all-rounder, he’ll be a valuable addition to the club with both bat and ball.

The Geelong West Cricket Club is excited to announce the appointment of Jake Alsop as our new senior men’s coach!

Jake joins us from Grovedale Cricket Club, where he has built an impressive playing resume with extensive 1st XI experience. A talented top-order keeper/batsman, Jake has consistently demonstrated strong cricket knowledge, leadership, and a competitive edge at a high level.

Jake’s energy, passion for the game, and commitment to developing players make him a fantastic fit for our club. Jake is driven to create a positive, hard-working environment where players of all levels can improve, contribute, and enjoy their cricket.

This appointment marks an exciting step forward for Geelong West as we continue to build both on-field success and a strong club culture. Jake’s experience and fresh perspective will be invaluable in guiding our playing group and supporting the next generation of talent coming through.

We’re thrilled to have Jake on board and can’t wait to see the impact he’ll make this season and beyond.
