How we use Reformer Pilates at GAC
At GAC, we incorporate reformer Pilates into our programming as another tool to help athletes move better, build strength and control, support recovery and complement their broader training.
From rehabilitation and return-to-sport through to strength, performance and recovery, the reformer can play a valuable role within an athlete’s individual program.
We like to see the reformer as another tool in the toolbox.

At GAC, we pride ourselves on individualising everything we do.
Our thorough, evidence-based testing battery – including the use of VALD force plates – gives us a complete picture of an athlete’s physical readiness, robustness, and performance capacity.
Whether you’re a GAC member tracking progress or a non-member wanting clarity on where to focus your training, our assessments provide the objective data to move forward with confidence.
Key areas we assess:
- Dynamic and static mobility
- Movement competency
- Trunk integrity
- Jumping and landing technique
- Single leg power
- Lower and upper limb asymmetries
- Lower limb power profile
- Reactive strength
Know exactly where you stand - and where to go next.

Yesterday, GAC High Performance Coach Bri welcomed GAC Strength & Conditioning coaches Pip and Holly to spend the day with the Western Bulldogs AFLW program.
In her role as AFLW Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at the Bulldogs, Bri gave Pip and Holly the opportunity to experience what a full day inside a professional AFLW environment looks like—from on-field preparation through to gym-based strength and conditioning.
It was an invaluable learning experience, providing insight into the planning, detail and resources that go into supporting elite athletes at the highest level.
We’re incredibly fortunate to have someone with Bri’s knowledge and experience leading the high-performance direction at GAC. Opportunities like this allow our coaching team to continue learning, growing and bringing best-practice coaching back to the athletes we work with every day.

Junior athlete development is a long-term investment.
At Geelong Athlete Centre, we believe the greatest improvements in young athletes aren’t achieved in a matter of weeks. They’re built through years of consistent coaching, purposeful programming and a commitment to continual development.
Our Junior Development Program provides an environment where athletes can develop strength, improve movement quality, enhance athletic performance and build the confidence to compete. As each athlete grows, their training evolves with them, ensuring they continue to be challenged and supported at every stage of their sporting journey.
One of the most rewarding aspects of coaching is seeing athletes return year after year. Watching them mature, embrace the training process and develop not only as athletes but as young people is a privilege that we never take for granted.
Our role is simple: to provide quality coaching, individualised programming and an environment where every athlete has the opportunity to reach their potential.
If you’re looking for a long-term approach to your child’s athletic development, we’d love to be part of their journey.
