It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Reverend Robert (Bob) Stevenson. He passed away recently on Wednesday 12th of August. ATCC offers our deepest condolences to his family
If anyone has some fond memories we love to hear them below.
Rev Bob Steveneson was the minister at Alexander Thomson Uniting Church during the late seventies through to the mid/late eighties. ATCC at this stage existed as a churches club that represented AT Uniting Church. Bob also played cricket for ATCC during this period and was a wily (and fairly competitive) spin bowler and more than a handy lower order bat. He predominantly played B & C grade but with a sprinkle of a couple of A grade games. Both his sons, Robert & David (known as Fred) also played at ATCC during the same period – both sons were just as good cricketers and played predominantly A grade.
Rev Bob has been featured in a few premiership photos back in the day – as was the tradition the minister was always front and square in the premiership photo.
