Beyond Boxing At Home For the cycle breakers, the pattern disruptors, the parents who are done yelling but still feeling lost. It’s about holding pads instead of holding it all in.

We teach you how to hold pads, call combos, and co regulate in your own home. Evidence based and built from real life breakdowns and breakthroughs. I’m Lena Moxon, a mental health practitioner, parent, and co-founder of Geelong Boxing Club. I created Beyond Boxing At Home because I was tired of seeing good parents blamed, kids misunderstood, and connection lost in chaos. This is about breaking patterns without breaking ourselves. It’s evidence based, trauma informed, and built for the messy middle where most of us live. If you're here, you're not too late, actually you're right on time.

We bring kids and teens into this gym from all kinds of backgrounds and teach them to hold pads for each other.

Not to create fighters. But because holding pads for someone is one of the most quietly powerful things you can put a young person through. You have to pay attention. You have to show up for someone else's effort. You have to be steady so they can be brave.

That's not boxing. That's a relationship skill.

And here's what nobody wants to sit with ...we tell kids to walk away from conflict, to remove themselves, to keep away. But where's the strategy for coming back?

For learning to be in a respectful, reciprocal relationship with someone, even when it's hard?

More than two in five young Australians aged 15 to 25 feel lonely. We are handing an entire generation a strategy for avoidance and calling it conflict resolution.

Relationship skills are skills. Learnable. Teachable. And almost entirely neglected.

That's why Beyond Boxing exists and why we built an at-home version for parents.

Because the most important relationship your child is learning to navigate right now might not be with a peer at school. It might be with you.

Beyond Boxing: At Home teaches parents how to hold pads for their child in 15 minutes at a time ... not to train them, but to give them somewhere to put the big feelings.

To build a rhythm together. To be the steady presence they keep coming back to.

You don't need to be a boxer. You just need to show up.

Steve has worked with hundreds of kids over the years.

The ones who come in with the biggest walls — the ones who are told they're too aggressive, too emotional, too much — they're usually the ones who respond to this the fastest.

Because boxing doesn't ask them to explain themselves. It asks them to show up. To focus. To try.

And something shifts when a kid realises they can handle something hard.

That shift is what Beyond Boxing: At Home is built around.

Not medals. Not fitness. Just a kid discovering they've got more in them than they thought.

Here's something nobody tells you about co-regulation.
It's not about staying calm. It's about being present while your child moves through something hard.

There's a difference.

Calm can look like distance. Like you're managing the situation from the outside.

Presence is different. It's physical. It says: I'm here, I'm not flinching, and I'm not going anywhere.

Holding boxing pads for your child is one of the most direct ways to communicate that — without a single word.

That's what we teach in Beyond Boxing: At Home.

Your child isn't being difficult. Their nervous system is.

When a kid melts down, the part of their brain responsible for logic and language shuts down. You can't talk them through it, not because they won't listen, but because that circuitry isn't available right now.

What works instead is movement. Rhythm. Something physical to move the feeling through. That's not a parenting hack.

That's neuroscience. And it's exactly why we built Beyond Boxing: At Home — so parents have something real to reach for when words aren't working.

When your child is overwhelmed, they’re not being dramatic.
They’re not being manipulative.
They’re not attention seeking.

They’re overwhelmed.
Their nervous system is doing exactly what it’s designed to do when overloaded.

The problem is: most parents aren’t shown what to do when that happens.

That’s why you feel stuck.
And that’s exactly what Beyond Boxing At Home teaches, how to actually help your child regulate in the moment.

Most parents aren’t missing information.

You’ve got information.

You know your child needs sleep, routine, healthy food, validation, limits, structure, patience.

The problem isn’t knowing what your child needs.
The problem is: how do you help them regulate when their system is already tipped over?

That’s where most of the advice stops short.

That’s what Beyond Boxing At Home is built for.

👉 The free meltdown guide breaks it down:

When your kid is mid meltdown, they don’t need a calm voice and a “how are you feeling?” chat.

They need their nervous system to calm down FIRST.

No amount of reasoning, explaining or validating feelings is going to work when their brain is shut off and their body is in fight, flight or freeze.

This is where most parents keep getting stuck and it’s not because you’re failing.

It’s because you’ve been told to use strategies that don’t match where your child is at in the moment.

That’s exactly what I teach parents inside Beyond Boxing At Home: How to work WITH your child’s body when their brain can’t cooperate.

By the time your kid gets home at the end of the day they're not just tired.

They’re holding the weight of every demand, every interaction, every expectation they tried to meet ...or couldn’t.

School doesn’t just drain their energy.
It floods their nervous system.

And that’s why afternoons feel like walking on eggshells.
The smallest thing tips them over.
Simple requests turn into explosions.
Or complete shutdown.

It’s not bad behaviour.
It’s overflow.

Their system is maxed out.

And as parents, we get thrown into it.
We’re left trying to calm the storm, often with nothing to actually help.

That’s exactly why we built Beyond Boxing At Home.

We give you real, practical, movement based tools you can use with your kids to shift the energy, regulate their system, and actually bring them back online.

Because sometimes words aren’t enough.
Sometimes you need to meet their body first.

This is co regulation.
This is nervous system work.
This is how you stop walking on eggshells.
