It’s not that hard to share the most up to date, clinically recommended and evidence based information when you’re creating content for social media. Especially when you’ve recently received $8.4M in Government funding to “improve health outcomes for women” and your own CEO claims “Every woman, regardless of where she lives or her background, should be able to access quality health information at every stage of her life…”. I’d be interested to know why this information was posted when it doesn’t meet current guidelines. I help women feel seen, heard, and supported through one of life’s biggest transitions: menopause. With lived experience of medically-induced menopause following a breast cancer diagnosis at 47, I bring real-life insight, empathy, and evidence-based conversations to the forefront of wo

Following the stunning announcement by AstraZeneca that Zoladex 3.6mg would be pulled from Australia, this morning they have made a U-Turn.
This comes after significant criticism from advocates, patients and a Change.org petition calling for urgent action gathered more than 42,000 signatures.
AstraZeneca has today announced it will supply Zoladex indefinitely to those whose doctors determine there are no other suitable treatments available. A massive win for patients. 👏 👏

🥱 If you’re exhausted, foggy, flat, and you’ve chalked it up to menopause, you might be right. You might also be dealing with sleep apnea but almost nobody is checking you for it.
Doctors are trained to look for loud snoring. Women don’t always present that way. So it gets missed, misdiagnosed, or brushed off as “just menopause”, and you keep white-knuckling through days on broken sleep.
If this sounds familiar, ask your GP for a referral to a sleep study. Don’t wait for them to bring it up first.

For six years, I was afraid of oestrogen. Because I was told my ER+ breast cancer meant HRT was never going to be an option. So I stopped asking, until the day I learned the evidence was far more nuanced than I had been told.
You also deserve an explanation, a discussion of the evidence, and a supportive and informed clinician willing to look at you and your whole picture. I wrote the article I wish I’d had been able to refer to back then.

Today I was stoked to be featured as one of six women in Sunday Life who are changing menopause care in Australia. And I’m genuinely so glad this cancer survivorship conversation is getting the recognition it deserves.
Breast cancer put me into medically induced menopause. No conversation was offered to prepare me for what that would actually mean and no plan was in place for what care I would need after treatment ended. I worked it out alone, the hard way and closing that gap in care is exactly why the support I offer today exists.
Getting to talk about that publicly, in a piece that treats menopause as worth serious coverage rather than a punchline, means so much. Thank you for including me Jane Rocca and thank you to everyone who’s trusted me with their own stories along the way.
DM me if you’d like to know more about the work I do and support I offer or pop onto the link in my bio.
I used to joke that Google was my fourth (free!) specialist. Oncologist, surgeon, GP, and whatever I could find at midnight when I couldn’t sleep. I wasn’t joking.
For six years I walked out of appointments with nothing. No pathway. No explanation. A follow-up in six months and a suggestion it might be stress. So I’d come home, open my laptop, and start again. Facebook groups. Podcasts at 6am. Screenshots of other women’s stories because they were more specific than anything a GP had told me.
I didn’t become obsessive. I became the project manager of my own healthcare because the system left that position empty. If that sounds like you right now, you are not the problem. The gap is the problem. And you are allowed to want it filled properly.
That’s why I created Navigate. It’s a handbook that gives you the right questions for the right specialist, and how to advocate for yourself for better care, if you need.

✨ Tag the woman who’s been Googling at midnight. She’ll know exactly what this means. 😉
If this resonated, it is exactly why I created the Navigate Handbook. It helps you join the dots between cancer treatment, menopause symptoms and the evidence, so you can walk into your next appointment knowing the questions worth asking and how to advocate for yourself if you need. ❤️
If you’d like to know more about the handbook, comment NAVIGATE and I’ll send a link in your DM’s.
