A fantastic result for FSC Sailing Academy graduate Matt Wearn Sailing, who claimed silver at the 2026 ILCA 7 World Championships in Dún Laoghaire, Ireland, after an incredible final-day comeback.

Sitting ninth heading into the final day, Matt delivered when it mattered, finishing first and second across the final two races to jump into the silver medal position, just one point behind the World Champion.

It’s Matt’s seventh ILCA 7 World Championship medal and another brilliant result on the road to LA 2028.

The five-course menu has been inspired by historical FSC menus from the 1980s, with each course paired with a Howard Park wine, alongside historical displays and live music by Lady M.

𝐀𝐈𝐑𝐁𝐎𝐑𝐍 𝐂𝐋𝐀𝐈𝐌𝐒 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐄𝐑 𝐂𝐔𝐏‼️👊💥
Our sail training boat Airborn, with Instructor Gerard Wilson at the helm, claimed the overall series Challenger Cup, supported by a crew of highly capable trainees.

The start of the final race was slightly delayed following a brief game of leapfrog around the start line. Once underway, the fleet set off in a north-westerly breeze of just over two knots, making a direct course for Mark B before heading south. Conditions showed little improvement throughout the race, ultimately resulting in a shortened course.

A sincere thank you to all the visiting boats and crews from our neighbouring clubs who joined us throughout the series. Your participation helped make the competition both enjoyable and memorable. We hope you had a great time on the water and look forward to welcoming you all back next year.

Line Honours for Endorfin! ⛵🏆

Congratulations to skipper Mike Giles and the crew of Endorfin on an outstanding performance in this year's Darwin to Banda Neira Yacht Race & Rally, claiming Line Honours and 1st Place IRC after completing the 510-nautical-mile passage in just 2 days, 12 hours and 7 minutes.

The fleet of 14 yachts departed on Saturday, 1 August. While two boats were unfortunately forced to retire due to equipment failure, all other competitors have now arrived safely in Banda Neira and are enjoying the town's warm hospitality.

Well done to Mike, Anthony, Julie and the entire crew on a fantastic achievement. Wishing them safe sailing for the journey home!
