September is hotting up! 🔥🔥 We’re well and truly into the finals action for all grades except the Metros who have one last round game.

This weekend is our first round of semis for our Premier 1 teams also. How sweet is it having both the Prem 1 men and women’s teams in finals for the first time in many many years 🥰

More details coming on each of the finals later in the week but in the meantime, clear your diaries and see you at the hockey on the weekend 🖤🤍🦅

Ps Div 4 and Div 5 ladies are enjoying a week off as their wins last weekend put them straight into the grand final 💅

An incredible effort by Mel Smith, running not one, but two marathons raising funds for the Sophie Smith Fund! Get on board and donate, even a dollar will help!

Sophie Smith is remembered as a proud Magpie, growing up at the club with Dad Keith playing over 1000 games and a life member. Soph and big sister Mel played many games for Freo across juniors and into seniors. Sadly Sophie tragically lost her life in her early adulthood following a brave battle with Lymphoma 💚

Sophie’s other great passion than hockey was the arts, so the Sophie Smith Fund was born which raises funds for young Western Australian musicians through the WAM Song for Sophie competition.

Any funds raised would be greatly appreciated and a great way to celebrate Sophie’s legacy. Well done Melzy, Keith and Liz 🖤🤍

Midweek Semi Final Action 💫

Our Midweek O35 men are set for their first semi final on Wednesday night, with a win to put us straight into the grand final!

Let’s hope they can remember to get their team photo on Wednesday for the first time in at least 5 years 😬😬

Congratulations to the ladies and our OFT Dean, Kegs and Connie on a remarkable first season and we wish you nothing but more success as we move into the finals series! Amazing 🙌🙌

The boys got the job done with a dominant 6-2 win. Onto the finals….

🏑 Junior Wind-Up

Our Junior Wind-Up will be held at The Nest on Sunday 20 September, with our whole-club celebrations kicking off from 12:30pm.

There’ll also be separate team presentations throughout the afternoon, with more details and timings to come once everything is locked in.

We’re planning plenty of fun for the kids, including a bouncy castle, petting farm, mini hockey games on the turf and beach ball soccer! 🐑🏰⚽🏑

🎟️ Cost: $10 per junior
Includes pizza, a drink and fairy floss.

Please note: this is a ticketed event — no paid ticket, no entry.

It’s a great chance for all our juniors to celebrate the season, enjoy some fun with their teammates and finish the year together.

And for the grown-ups… the bar will be open too! 🍻
