August at the Haven

PILATES... WE SURVIVED!

Well, today proved that muscles we didn't even know we had can definitely let us know they're there! 😄

A huge thank you to our fantastic instructor Claire, who somehow made us stretch, strengthen, wobble, laugh, and smile—all in the same session! Her patience, encouragement, and expertise made everyone feel welcome, whether you were a Pilates pro or just trying to remember which way was up!

There were a few balance checks, plenty of laughs, the occasional "Is this supposed to hurt?" and one or two suspiciously loud groans getting off the mats... but everyone walked away feeling better than when they arrived.

A massive thank you also to Revive Exercise Physiology and RSL Active for making this wonderful program possible. Your support is helping our veterans and first responders improve their physical health, confidence, and wellbeing in a safe, friendly environment.

If you missed today's session, don't worry—there's still time to join us over the coming weeks. We promise the hardest part is getting off the floor afterwards! 😉

🐾 Who let the dogs out...? We did... with brand-new leads! 😂

Another fantastic day at Our Veterans Haven, where our talented crew tackled the art of Macramé, creating their very own dog leads. There were a few knots, a few laughs, and only a couple of moments where we wondered if we'd accidentally made fishing nets! 🪢🐕

A huge thank you to Dobbo for sharing his skills, patience and sense of humour—it was a brilliant session enjoyed by everyone.

And, of course, a special shout-out to Jo, who once again made sure nobody went home hungry. Your delicious lunch and endless support are always appreciated. ❤️

Great people, great food, plenty of laughs, and another new skill learnt. That's what Our Veterans Haven is all about.
