Thanks to DM Simtography for capturing these moments 🙏.

THE FINAL LAP — 9INE5IVE SIMSPORT

This is, without doubt, one of the hardest posts I have ever had to write.

After a lot of thought, and incredible support from the team, I have made the incredibly difficult decision to close the doors on 9INE5IVE SIMSPORT.

When I started this team back in 2019, I could never have imagined what it would become. It began as a few mates who loved motorsport, karting and sim racing and simply wanted to race together, have some fun and see how far we could push ourselves. Somewhere along the way, it became much more than that.

9INE5IVE became a proper team. It became a group of people who practiced together, shared setups, helped each other improve and backed one another through the good races and the absolute shockers. It became something I have been incredibly proud to put my name behind.

We were never the biggest team. What we have always had is a group of people willing to work hard, give each other an opportunity and take the fight to some of the best drivers and teams in Australian sim racing, and we achieved more than I ever thought possible.

We won four championships across our first six RSRA seasons and became the most successful team in the history of that competition.

We won the 2023 V8 SCOPS with Griffin Gardiner in breakthrough year from him and us.

Dylan Rudd won the 2023 Logitech G V8PRO Invitational Series Qualifying Series, and Dylan and Ric Kuznetsov later gave us one of our proudest nights by finishing second and third together at Phillip Island in the Pro Invitational Series.

We won Porsche championships with drivers including Ben Syron, Ash Davis, Sam Muir, Simon Mezzomo and Gianni Lutzu, and continued to compete at the front across Porsche, Supercars, GT and prototype racing.

We won championships in V8VETS with Scott Gamble, in some of the best racing I've ever had with anyone race after race.

We won iRacing Special Events, including the Bathurst 1000 and a top-split Watkins Glen 6 Hour victory, not to mention the Daytona 24-hour win! We stood on podiums, won races, took pole positions and produced results in some of the strongest fields on the service.

But as proud as I am of the results, the trophies and the race wins, they are not what I will remember most.

I will remember the late nights in Discord. I will remember the endless setup changes, the strategy discussions, the laughs, the arguments, the nerves before qualifying and the celebrations when everything finally came together.

I will remember watching drivers join this team searching for an opportunity and seeing them grow in confidence, improve and achieve things they may not have thought were possible. That was always what mattered most to me: to have the respect of the community and to help others achieve their goals, and drivers wanting to be a part of the 95SS culture and environment.

To every driver who wore the 9INE5IVE colours over the journey:

Simon Chadwick, Ash Davis, Ben Syron, Kyle Zink, Mitch Campbell, Peter Crossingham, Dylan Rudd, Aron Dodd, Ric Kuznetsov, Zac Mac, Craig Schulz, Bradley Rattew, Gianni Lutzu, Hayden Harrison, Griffin Gardiner, Dylan O’Shea, Simon Mezzomo, Cameron Jones, Daniel Benefield, Riley Bilson, Luke Swan, Brody Sentance, Justin McLean, Hayden Sell, Sam Muir, Sam Noble, Pat Klein, Jaydon Wilcox, Jarrod Macleod, Logan Barnett, Michael Stewart, Scott Gamble, Ben Morris, Brian Borg, Darren Caldwell, Michael Brennan, Jamie Mashado, Dean Logsdale, Sean Vandermeulen, Wayne Sanderson, Nick Percat, Garry Jacobson and Thomas Freeman. I hope I haven't missed anyone here!

And to every endurance co-driver, spotter, setup builder and teammate who stepped in and represented us along the way—thank you. Whether you raced with us for one event, or multiple, you played a part in the story of this team. I genuinely hope wearing the 9INE5IVE colours meant something to you, because having you represent the team meant an enormous amount to me.

There were difficult moments along the way. There were times when results did not come, personalities clashed or things did not work out as planned. That is part of running a competitive team. But through all of it, I always cared deeply about this team and the people in it.

Every decision I made was because I wanted 9INE5IVE to improve, succeed and be respected.

I also need to make special mention of Jon Le from . Jon’s support of 9INE5IVE over the years has been incredible and has meant more to me than I can properly put into words. He has backed the team since day one, supported what we were trying to build and been there whenever we needed him. What started as a relationship through sim racing and team support turned into a genuine friendship. Thank you for everything, Jon.

A huge thank you also needs to go to Ross from RSW Graphics. Every 9INE5IVE car that hit the track needed to look right, and anyone who knows me knows just how particular, and probably painful I can be when it comes to the smallest details. Ross somehow managed to put up with my OCD-level requests, endless changes and obsession over things most people would never even notice. No matter what I threw at him, he always delivered. In my opinion, he is simply the best there is at what he does, but more importantly, he is an absolutely great bloke. Ross, thank you for making 9INE5IVE look as professional as it performed and for putting up with me along the way.

To our partners, league organizers, broadcasters, supporters, families and everyone who followed our racing, shared our posts or sent us a message after a good result—thank you. You helped turn a small team created by a group of mates into something recognized and respected throughout the Australian sim-racing community.

Closing the team does not take away anything we achieved.

Most importantly, the friendships and the experiences will remain long after the final 9INE5IVE car has crossed the finish line.

I am incredibly sad that this chapter is ending, but I am also unbelievably proud of what we created together and the response from the team when they were informed, very inspiring and they epitomize what this team is about, loyalty, respect and genuine mate ship.

To every person who believed in the team, supported me and came along for the ride, Thank you.

It has been one hell of a journey.

The good news is that the team will stay together. We have been working collaboratively with the guys at Synergy Sim Racing for the past 12 months. SSR really do share the same values as 9INE5IVE and have been awesome to work with, so we will be moving under the SSR banner and look forward to continuing the good times over there!

So, this Thursday night, V8 Veterans will be the final time you see the 95SS cars in anger on track live on the Sim Speed Esports Network. Podium or Fence, it will be a fun last night.

Feel free to drop a favourite 9INE5IVE memory below, give this a share, the more that see, the more that get thanked.

For now, from me to you all, Thank you.

Shawn McNamara — 9INE5IVE SIMSPORT.
