The preparations are beginning for the new season.
We'd love to see you all there to connect, work hard, learn and have fun playing cricket.

The BHRDCA Umpires Association in conjunction with ECA, FTG and RDCA and facilitated by Cricket Victoria are introducing a Beginner Umpire Masterclass.

The session is designed to introduce new and aspiring umpires to the game through a combination of practical on-field activities and discussion-based learning. It is aimed at individuals with little to no umpiring experience and will provide a great introduction to the role and opportunities available within umpiring.

Nunawading Cricket Club Welcomes Back Dulina Gunaratne.
First started playing cricket at Nunawading Cricket Club in the 2016/17 season, where he was honoured to vice-captain the U14B side. Nunawading CC was where he was introduced to Cricket, and it quickly became the place where he first fell in love with the game. As his aspirations grew towards playing competitive turf cricket, he made the move into turf cricket to continue developing his game.

Most recently during his time at Donvale Cricket Club playing Sub-District Cricket, he had some incredible opportunities both on and off the field. He had the opportunity to open the bowling in the 2nd XI during the 2023/24 season, and after a shoulder injury, was given the incredible opportunity to Captain the 4th XI in 2024/25, and Captain the 3rd XI in 2025/26. He is extremely grateful to Donvale CC for the chances to grow his leadership skills and for the friendships and family he’s found during his time there.

Some of his career highlights include:
- Taking 7/9 against Box Hill CC in the VSDCA 4XI while playing for Croydon CC in 2021/22.
- Taking a hat-trick (with a chance for a double hat-trick) in the final over of a T20 last year in the Donvale 3XI to nearly bring home a very tight game.
- Leading the Donvale 3XI side to an outright victory in the 2024/25 season against Box Hill CC - the first outright victory he has been a part of.

Off the field, Dulina has completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Science at Monash University. He’s currently studying a Master of Public Health at Deakin University and is a Pharmacy Assistant at Chemist Warehouse.

“I’m very excited to be returning to Nunawading CC for a fresh start, continue developing my game, and be back at the club where my cricket journey first began.”

Nunawading Cricket Club Welcomes Ryder Joyce
18-year-old batting all-rounder who started in the Chirnside Park CC junior system. Then went onto to debut in Chirnside Park CC senior 1st XI at 15 whilst playing junior representative cricket for the RDCA (VMCU) and Box Hill (Craig Shield). Currently studying law/commerce at university. Many current and past players will be familiar with the surname Joyce, with the family having a strong and illustrious history at Nuna! Exciting to see the family tradition and legacy continue.

LAST CHANCE!
We are asking for all members to complete the Mahoneys Reserve Master Plan Survey. There are two choices for the survey – long survey and short survey. It only takes 10 mins to complete and given the importance of the master plan to our club, we hope you can spare the time. We can’t afford to miss the boat on the pavilion and other key changes related to cricket after all the lobbying we have been doing for the last three years.
The Survey closes on the 24th of May, so please get your voice heard as soon as possible.
