"You’ve got to be comfortable with the uncomfortable." 💫
This powerful quote was a highlight for one participant who attended a recent employment workshop. The workshop was hosted by Opendoor's Tony, and the quote was his reminder of the benefits which come from stepping outside of our comfort zones.
Tony did a fantastic job of creating a comfortable, welcoming environment where everyone felt encouraged to participate in the workshop and truly connect with one another.
While we know that the journey to employment looks different for everyone, we also know that having a supportive and interactive space to learn and grow makes all the difference. We're here to provide that.
So, if you are looking for proactive, professional guidance to take your next step into work, our employment team is here for you.

Every individual deserves a space where they feel truly seen, safe, and supported. We're here to offer that.
As we approach PTSD Awareness Day tomorrow (27 June), we want to raise awareness of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It's an experience that touches many lives within our community, often silently.
Living with trauma can feel incredibly isolating, but you never have to navigate it alone. Creating an environment of genuine understanding and comfort is at the heart of everything we do. Whether you are managing your own mental health journey or supporting a loved one, your story and your wellbeing matter.
Let's stand together to raise awareness of PTSD, break any stigma attached to it, and foster a community built on empathy and connection.

Social impact partnerships: Cleanable & Hume City Council 🤝
Cleanable, Opendoor’s social enterprise, has been delivering sustainable, high-quality, and socially impactful cleaning services to Hume City Council since 2022.
Cleanable’s local team of 18 staff members have broken barriers to employment, and now proudly provide professional litter collection, sorting, and appropriate disposal of litter across Hume City’s public realms, parks, reserves, and transport corridors. Over 75% of Cleanable staff working for Hume City Council live in the area, which mean residents can be supported by, and contribute back to, their own community.
When organisations partner with Cleanable, they receive:
✨ excellent, professional service.
✨ a pristine environment for their residents.
✨ peace of mind that partnered staff are being paid fairly.
✨ feel-good knowledge that vulnerable people are being supported into paid employment.
✨ value for money that goes beyond the bottom line.
