🏏 JUNIOR REGISTRATIONS REMINDER 🏏

A quick reminder for all returning and new junior players that registrations are now open for the 2026/27 season.

We're currently working through team numbers and planning for the upcoming season, so if your child intends to play, we'd appreciate registrations being completed as soon as possible.

The earlier players register, the easier it is for us to:
✅ Confirm team numbers
✅ Organise coaches and volunteers
✅ Plan training sessions
✅ Ensure every child has a place in the right program

We're currently building our playing list for the season ahead and registrations are the best way for us to understand who is committed, what our numbers look like, and how many teams we'll be fielding.

Tonight is a great chance to dust off the bat, have a hit, catch up with teammates and start preparing for the season ahead.

Starting August 3, we will be training every Monday at Topline from 7pm to 8pm. Aim to arrive by 6.45pm for a quick warm up so we are ready to go!

The Griffins are pleased to welcome Archie Fyfe to the club for the upcoming season.

Making the move from Shotley Bridge Cricket Club in England, Archie is a wicketkeeper and top-order batter who will strengthen our senior playing group heading into 2026/27.

We're excited to have Archie on board and look forward to seeing plenty of runs, sharp work behind the stumps, and his contribution around the club.

Following our recent AGM, we'd like to officially welcome our newly elected committee as we look forward to another exciting season at the Footballers.

Firstly, we would like to thank our outgoing President, Nicholas Bogar, for the countless hours, dedication, and leadership. Your commitment to the club has helped shape where we are today, and we are incredibly grateful for everything you've done.

We would also like to thank all outgoing committee members and volunteers who have generously given their time and energy behind the scenes. Community clubs thrive because of people like you, and your contributions are greatly appreciated.

As we turn the page to a new chapter, we're excited to welcome our incoming committee members. We look forward to building on the strong foundations already in place and continuing to grow our club both on and off the field.

On Friday night at our Presentation Night, we had the privilege of welcoming Peter Castledine as the club's 52nd Life Member.

For more than 20 years, Peter has dedicated himself to our club, making an impact both on and off the field through his passion, leadership and commitment.

Peter has been one of the driving forces behind our club for many years. Whether leading teams, mentoring players, helping attract new members, serving on committees or simply being one of the great club characters around the rooms, he has always put the club first.

And if you've ever attended a club function, always happy to talk to anyone and he is always the last person to leave. His commitment to the club extends well beyond match day, helping create the social culture and mateship that makes our club such a special place to be.

What makes his contribution even more remarkable is that he is still performing on the field. This season, representing our Third XI, Peter won both the Batting Award and Bowling Award for the grade, proving his dedication to the club remains as strong as ever.

The Life Membership presentation was delivered by fellow Life Member Joe Stroud, who spoke passionately about Peter's outstanding contribution and the lasting impact he has had on generations of players and members.

Life Membership is the highest honour our club can bestow, reserved for those whose service and commitment have left a lasting legacy. Peter is a worthy recipient and joins an esteemed group of club legends as Life Member #52.

Congratulations Peter, and thank you for everything you have given our club over the past two decades. Your passion for the Orange and Black is unmatched and we look forward to seeing your impact continue for many years to come.
