Nobody told you this when you started lifting and it’s probably costing you more than you realise.
How you breathe during exercise matters.
Not in a “here’s another thing to overthink” way. In a “this is why your core feels unstable, your reps feel harder than they should, and you’re leaving the studio more wired than when you walked in” way.
Here’s the simple version:
💨 Inhale on the easy part. The inhale comes during the eccentric phase, that’s the muscle-lengthening part of the movement. Think: lowering into a squat, lowering the weight down, lengthening back to start.
💨 Exhale on the hard part. The gold standard during strength training is to exhale during exertion. Think: pushing up from the squat, pressing the weight overhead, pulling the bar toward you.
And HOW you breathe matters too. In through your nose, out through your mouth and when you inhale, make sure you’re engaging your diaphragm, taking a breath deep enough that you feel it in your belly, not just your chest.
Why does this actually matter?
Your muscles need oxygen to transport waste products like lactate and CO₂ away and breathing properly also helps prevent your blood pressure spiking during strength work.
Maintaining rhythmic breathing is one of the most important things you can do for your nervous system, which matters enormously if you’re in perimenopause and already navigating a nervous system that doesn’t take much to tip into overdrive.
And between sets? Don’t skip the diaphragmatic breathing. Take big, slow breaths between sets, letting your belly really expand and release so you go into your next lift calm and able to regulate properly.
One thing to practise today: Next time you’re lifting, just notice, are you holding your breath? Most women are. Start with lighter weights so you can focus on mastering the breathing technique first then it becomes natural.
Your breath is the thing you actually have control over in every single session. Use it. 🙌

Most women think bone health = calcium tablets and dairy.
But here’s what doesn’t get talked about nearly enough.
The fruits and vegetables on your plate are actively protecting your bones too.
Long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids contribute to increased bone mass. The micronutrients, phytochemicals and compounds found in whole plant foods help lower your body’s acid load and that matters, because a high acid environment pulls minerals from your bones to restore balance.
Your body is incredibly smart. But it needs the right raw materials to do its job.
So if you’ve been white-knuckling your way through low calorie eating, skipping meals, or surviving on coffee and convenience your bones are quietly paying the price. Even if you feel fine right now.
This is exactly why we talk about nutrition alongside strength training at Revibe.
Building strong bones isn’t one thing. It’s the combination of resistance training, real food, adequate protein, and a lifestyle that actually supports your body not fights against it.
You don’t need to be perfect. You need to be consistent with the right things.

What does Elevate Your Vibe actually mean?
It means you stop dreading mornings. It means your brain fog lifts enough to feel like you again. It means you walk a little taller, not because anyone told you to, but because you earned it, rep by rep. It means strength becomes something you feel, not just something you chase.
This is what Revibe is for.
Not perfection. Not punishment. Not starting over.
Just you. Coming back to yourself. One session at a time.
If something in you just whispered maybe that’s your sign.
The link is in my bio. Come and see what’s waiting for you. 🧡

She didn’t come looking for a gym. She came looking for this.
Hands in. No hesitation. Just women who show up for each other, and mean it.
She came because her body had been changing in ways nobody warned her about. Because she was exhausted in a way sleep wasn’t fixing. Because she’d been putting herself last for so long she’d almost forgotten what it felt like to be first on her own list.
She wasn’t looking for another intense program or a place that made her feel like she was already behind before she even walked in.
She came looking for a place that felt safe enough to try.
And she found something she hadn’t even known she was missing, women who get it. Who don’t need an explanation. Who show up on the hard days and the easy ones. Who cheer for each other’s wins like they’re their own.
That’s what this is.
Not just strength training for women. Not just another fitness studio.
A place where women in perimenopause and beyond rebuild their strength, reclaim their energy, and remember who they are, together.
Where the goal isn’t perfection. It’s consistency. Progress. And feeling like yourself again.
If you’ve been navigating the changes that come with perimenopause, the fatigue, the brain fog, the body that feels unfamiliar, and you’ve been waiting for a place that was actually built for this season of your life?
This is it.
If you’ve been watching from the outside wondering whether you’d belong here, this is your answer.
You already do.

Your hormones aren’t betraying you.
They’re just doing something nobody explained.
Progesterone drops first, not estrogen. And progesterone is what keeps your cortisol calm, your insulin stable and your thyroid supported.
When it falls, estrogen gets louder. Your body struggles to clear it. And here’s the part that surprises most women:
Your bowel movements are how you clear excess estrogen.
Not going daily? That estrogen gets reabsorbed. Which means the bloating, the mood swings, the weight that won’t shift, they stay.
This is why the same things that worked before aren’t working now. The rules changed. Your body needs a different approach.
Strength. Nervous system support. Understanding what’s actually happening.
That’s Revibe.

Your nervous system is not separate from your health.
Chronic stress - the low-grade, relentless kind that comes from decades of doing everything for everyone, keeps your body in a state of physiological threat response.
Cortisol stays elevated. Digestion is impaired. Fat is stored, particularly around the abdomen.
Your body is not malfunctioning. It is doing exactly what it evolved to do under sustained threat.
The problem is that the threat is your to-do list, not a predator. And your body cannot tell the difference.
So what actually helps?
Breathwork - even 5 minutes of slow, diaphragmatic breathing activates the parasympathetic nervous system and lowers cortisol. This is not optional self-care. This is physiology.
Time in nature - direct contact with natural environments measurably reduces cortisol and inflammation.
Community and connection - genuine social connection regulates the nervous system at a hormonal level. Isolation elevates it.
Removing the obligation to be constantly accessible - this is a boundary, not a luxury.
You were not designed to run on empty. And you do not have to keep proving that you can.
At Revibe, our weekly Restore and Balance sessions Monday and Tuesday evenings and monthly breathwork, meditation and sound healing events exist for exactly this: for the woman who gives everything and rarely stops to receive.
Yet to attend? Let this be your sign.
