Kumataka Epping Dōjō

Our newest yon-kyu graduates in judo and the end of an era. These two Kumataka members are the last to receive the Judo Australia grading certificates in this form. Judo Australia is moving to digital grade records and certificates. These are the last two 'hard copy' certificates and serial numbers from Epping stock. The next Judo grades at Epping will be the digital variety. After decades of stamping JA certs this marks the end of an era at Kumataka Epping Dojo. Congratulations John and Jin, and thanks to Wayne for helping prepare them for their grading.

Hiki fuse, from the Idori kata in Sosuishi-ryu Jujutsu. This technique includes atemi, joint manipulation, weapons disarm and immobilisation. It teaches combat psychology, and how to advance strategic advantage using the ‘ju’ principle and sound biomechanics to achieve a decisive outcome. Gabriel Dayeh Sensei, head instructor at Kumataka St George Dojo was presented with his certificate for sanmokuroku in Sosuishi-ryu Jujutsu today. Thank you to Sh*tama Sensei for your continued support and sincere congratulations Gabriel on this significant achievement.

The roof has come off the dojo, so we have had to relocate for the time being.

Sessions resume Feb 10th at Boronia Grove Community Center (Karate) and Feb 11th at Epping Rotary Hall (Judo and Jujutsu).
