πŸ“° Frog Hollow parkrun Weekly Wrap – Event #571 πŸΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

Saturday, 29th August 2026

This week, 151 legends ran, jogged, walked and generally made their way around the Frog Hollow course. Whether you were chasing a Personal Best, catching up with mates, or simply trying to convince yourself that getting out of bed was a good idea, we’re glad you joined us! πŸ˜‚πŸ‘

A huge welcome goes out to our 24 first timers! πŸ‘‹ We hope you enjoyed your first taste of Frog Hollow and that you’ve already started planning your return visit.

And how about those speedy people! πŸ’¨ 20 participants recorded new Personal Bests this week. Clearly, there was something in the Frog Hollow water… although we probably don’t recommend drinking it! 🀣🐸

We also welcomed representatives from 12 different clubs, proving once again that Frog Hollow is the place to be on a Saturday morning!

Of course, parkrun doesn't happen by magic. Well, unless you count the magical powers of our amazing volunteers! ✨

This week's event was made possible by these 11 absolute CHAMPIONS:

πŸ‘ Darren BEDFORD
πŸ‘ Noel BURKE
πŸ‘ Jeffrey MCLEAN
πŸ‘ Ross TENNANT
πŸ‘ Amy BLACKWOOD
πŸ‘ Glenn MOLONEY
πŸ‘ Gary HOLLAND
πŸ‘ Gay BOURKE
πŸ‘ Kelly STRAY
πŸ‘ Amanda HOLMES
πŸ‘ Odette CAINS

Give them all a massive round of applause! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ Without volunteers, there would be no timers, no scanners, no results… and probably just 151 people wandering around wondering when they’re allowed to go home! πŸ˜‚

Frog Hollow parkrun first kicked off on 14th June 2014, and since then, things have certainly added up!

🐸 8,075 participants
πŸƒ 52,163 parkruns completed
πŸ“ 260,815 kilometres covered
⚑ 6,941 new Personal Bests
🦸 754 volunteers
πŸ™Œ 5,371 volunteer occasions

That’s a lot of kilometres, a lot of Saturday mornings, and an absolutely ridiculous number of alarms going off before sunrise! ⏰🀣

Whether you're running, jogging, walking, volunteering, cheering, chatting or simply turning up for the post-parkrun catch-up, Frog Hollow is what it is because of its amazing community. πŸ’šπŸΈ

Thanks to everyone who joined us for Event #571, and we’ll see you all next Saturday for another dose of fresh air, friendly faces and questionable decisions about how fast to start the first kilometre! πŸ˜‚πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸ’¨
Same place. Same time. Same brilliant Frog Hollow community! πŸΈπŸ’š

β€’ Amanda’s parkrun journey began at Frog Hollow on 07/03/2020.
β€’ Within two weeks parkrun was cancelled worldwide because of the Covid-19 pandemic. She could have been forgiven for saying she’d tried parkrun and given up. But to her credit, she returned to do her second parkrun in January 2021, after parkrun in Victoria was allowed to resume.
β€’ This weekend when she performs the role of first timers welcome, she will join the v25 club, for volunteering 25 weeks at parkrun.
β€’ Her 24 volunteer credits to date have all been done at Frog Hollow except for volunteering once at Eastern Gardens.
β€’ She has volunteered across five distinct roles. She has done barcode scanning ten times and been a timekeeper and the tail walker five times each. She has done the first timers welcome three times and been the photographer once.
β€’ The most volunteer credits she has earned in a calendar year is six, this year.
β€’ She has an excellent volunteer ratio of 15%.
β€’ Her 150th parkrun at Frog Hollow will be her 158th overall.

β€’ She has a best age grade percentage of 39.39%, earned on the day of her PB.
β€’ She has run at a total of nine parkrun locations. She has done one interstate event, at Mount Gambier in South Australia. Apart from her parkruns at Frog Hollow, she has done one parkrun each at another seven events in Victoria.
