Please be aware that brown snakes have been spotted inside the Mcindoe Park area.

Take care and keep an eye on the ground when walking around.

CCTV LIVE AT MCINDOE PARK

By legislation we need to notify people visiting Mcindoe Park that there is live footage being recorded and kept. There is CCTV stickers up but we will get some signs and more stickers made up.

Some of the cameras are in obvious spots and some not. Please be assured the footage is only accessed for incidents.

This is only a stop gap for the time being as we will be putting in for a council grant to get the whole facility covered by CCTV by mid 2023.

Dear Community members,

We are currently working with council in regard to the condemned toilet building. When the new toilet building was erected at McIndoe the old toilet block became defunct and as a sporting community we chose to use it less and now it is currently in a derelict state. The original intention was to always have it demolished however this can only happen when council have access to the demotion services.

There has been some discussion about keeping the building and transforming the building into something more usable. We understand that there is a lot of attachment to McIndoe and a lot of the buildings have sentimental value. We acknowledge that a lot of volunteer blood, sweat and tears went in when they were being built and I am sure a few memorable beers to. We really dislike wasting and discarding items and want to hang on to things if we can repurpose them however there are some difficulties if we choose this option. We value volunteer contributions and want to inform you of the current dilemma.

Currently the building (roof) at this stage, has asbestos and will need to be removed by a professional. Additional, to this if it was removed it would be difficult to determine any future risks to health from the asbestos and the legalities involved in this. Secondly, if we were to keep the structure, as a league community we would need to decide and agree on what the building would be repurposed as.

There are no funds available from council so the repurposing and structural changes would be at a cost to the clubs.

Sadly, it might be best to have the building demolition and then once we have received asbestos report apply for grants and get a removable building installed that meets the club’s needs. Whilst this isn’t an idea outcome it is the best given the current situation. Thank you for your understanding.
