Today was the highly awaited monthly medal proudly sponsored by BHP aka Brice, Huet and Parter.

A great field of 36 players competed for $700 sponsored by these deadly men!!

Welcome to new members Brian and Henry Wells and Corrie Jordaan.

The medal winner was Gavin Fielder on 26 points, runner up was Pete Bailey on 25 points and third was Mick Stanton on 24 points on a countback from Reggie Parter and Noel Cavenagh.

Pinshots won by Shaun Parter, Reggie Parter all money donated back and Ian Janetzki. Long drive on 14 won by Reggie which was donated back. No one claimed the prize for nearest the target on 13 or 16.

A minutes silence was observed for club stalwart Hazel Stephen who sadly passed last weekend. RIP Hazel. ❤️

Emerald Golf Club is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable casual Bar/Venue Supervisor to join our team.

This hands-on role will involve supervising day-to-day venue operations, supporting the bar team, assisting with functions and helping us deliver friendly, professional service to our members and guests.

We’re looking for someone who:

✅ Holds current RSA and RSG certificates
✅ Has strong customer-service and communication skills
✅ Is confident working independently and leading a team
✅ Is reliable, organised and comfortable in a busy environment
✅ Can work a flexible roster, including evenings and weekends

Hospitality or supervisory experience would be highly regarded.

🔨 WORKS UNDERWAY AT THE EGC

A quick heads-up to our members that work will be underway on the benchtops in the outdoor area for most of this week as we continue making improvements around the clubhouse.

There may be some minor disruptions while the work is being completed, so we appreciate everyone’s patience while the team gets the job done.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Hazel Stephan, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, 15 August.

Hazel was a much-loved and long-standing member of the Emerald Golf Club community. A strong and loving lady who was never afraid to speak her mind, Hazel lived life her way and brought plenty of character with her wherever she went.

Golf was a lifelong love for Hazel, and over many years the course became a place of friendship, happiness and countless memories. She was one of the wonderful people who helped shape the character and community of our club, and her presence will be deeply missed.

Our heartfelt condolences go to Hazel’s family, friends and all those within our golfing community who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Thank you for the memories, Hazel. Rest peacefully. ❤️

⛳ MEMBER UPDATE | AUGUST 2026 ⛳

What a first seven months it’s been at Emerald Golf Club!

From the Open, Club Championships and the return of the Pro Am, to plenty of improvements both on the course and around the clubhouse, there’s been a lot happening at EGC in 2026.

A huge thank you to our members, sponsors, volunteers, committee and staff who continue to support the club and help make these improvements possible. 💚

And we’re not finished yet! There’s plenty more planned for the remainder of the year, including further course and clubhouse improvements, gaming room upgrades and some great events on the calendar.

We had a great field of 33 players for sporters club proudly sponsored by Haymans Electrical. It was not a medal but the winner qualified for the final.

The current manager Matt Jang is leaving us for a new position in North Queensland. We all love Matt for his sponsorship of sporters, the main club and in the community. Best wishes Matt and welcome to his replacement Jonathan Minter. 👏👏

A minutes silence was observed for former member Peter 'Chicko' Appleton who sadly passed last week. RIP Peter ❤️

The popular winner on 31 points was Tony Ronnfeldt. Runner up was Shane Simpson and third Steve Kurta on a countback from Matt Jang.
