2026 NPL MEN’S SEASON WRAP
With our 2026 NPL Presentation Night bringing another year to a close, it’s a fitting time to reflect on the season that was.
It was a year of hard work, commitment and plenty of memorable moments, both on and off the field. From the performances of our senior squad to the opportunities created for the next generation of Eagles coming through, there is much to be proud of across our NPL Men’s program.
The Eagles finished the regular season in 4th place in an incredibly competitive race, with just three points separating 2nd, 3rd and 4th on the ladder, earning our place in another finals campaign.
In his ninth season of First Grade with Edgeworth, Tyson Jackson co-captained the side alongside Tyler Harrison, providing experience and leadership throughout the campaign and into the finals series.
We welcomed a number of new faces to The Nest in 2026, with both new and returning players making valuable contributions throughout the year. In front of goal, Aaron Niyonkuru, Reece McManus and Flynn Goodman were among those leading the way on the scoresheet.
Between the sticks, Ben Conway produced another outstanding season, while Flynn Goodman and Xander Woweries were also among the standouts across the year. All three were recognised with selection in the Northern NSW Football 2026 All Stars Squad, a fantastic achievement and well-deserved recognition of their performances.
Our pathway continued to provide opportunities for the next generation of Eagles, with younger homegrown players such as Hudson Wells gaining valuable exposure to the First Grade environment. Ryan McAlister, Ty Stoker, Billy Musgrove and Liam Wright also reached an important milestone, each making their First Grade debut in 2026.
There were plenty of memorable moments along the way. This team certainly knew how to keep our supporters on the edge of their seats, producing several dramatic victories with late goals and showing plenty of fight right through to the final whistle.
Our Hahn Australia Cup campaign also took us all the way to Round 7, where we came agonisingly close to securing a place on the national stage in the Round of 32.
Behind the playing group was a dedicated coaching and support team led by Head Coach Peter McGuinness, who was also recognised with selection as Co-Coach of the 2026 NNSWF All Stars. Pete was supported throughout the season by Assistant Coach Craig Stoker, together with Ben Smith, Trent Partridge, Todd McManus, Justin Woweries and Jed Partridge. We thank them all for the time, commitment and energy they have given to the senior squad throughout the year.

Whether you were at The Nest, travelled with us on the road, stood behind the fence in the rain, celebrated those late winners or followed along from home, your support has been felt throughout the season.
The final whistle may have sounded on 2026, but there is plenty to look back on with pride.
