The Loved One Concept.

Our guiding principle is simple:

Would I allow this person to teach and lead someone I love?

And when an Open Water student passes, we turn that question around:

Would I let this person dive with someone I love?
Every diver we certify becomes someone else’s buddy — and someone else is trusting them to dive with their loved one.

That’s the standard we want to achieve — from the instructor leading the course to the student completing it.

Although we’re usually closed on Mondays during winter, we’ll be opening the shop from 9am-12pm tomorrow while we catch up on servicing and get things ready for the season.

We’ll be back to our peak/summer trading hours soon and will announce it as soon as we’re ready!

🌊 South West Staff Picks – Kane

When it comes to favourite local dive sites, Kane has two—one for single tank diving and one for sidemount. Both offer something special, but for different reasons.

🤿 Single Tank Favourite – Busselton Jetty
"The Busselton Jetty is my favourite single tank dive because there's always something new to see. It's home to a variety of marine life. The pylon corals are colourful and you can find nudibranchs, octopus, seahorses, schools of fish and so much more. It's a peaceful dive"

⚙️ Sidemount Favourite – Eagle Bay
"For sidemount, I'd choose Eagle Bay. The easy beach entry make diving with sidemount gear much more enjoyable. Underwater, you'll find granite reefs, colourful marine life and crystal-clear water. It's a relaxed dive where you can take your time exploring"

Kalimbungo Cave is part of the extensive cave systems found throughout Southeast Sulawesi, a region renowned for its remarkable submerged passages and ongoing exploration.

Not every dive has postcard-blue water.

Sometimes it's a chilly winter morning. The visibility isn't perfect. Your fingers are cold as you kit up, and you're wondering why you set your alarm so early.

Then you slip beneath the surface.

The world above disappears. Your breathing slows. The noise fades. For the next hour, nothing else matters.

That's why we dive.

Winter diving isn't just about getting underwater—it's also the perfect time to keep your skills fresh. Every dive helps build confidence, refine your buoyancy, and keep those important skills second nature, so you're ready for the adventures that spring and summer bring.

Not because every dive is perfect, but because every dive teaches us something, reconnects us with the ocean, and reminds us why we fell in love with diving in the first place.

What keeps you diving through winter? Is it the peaceful conditions, staying sharp, catching up with your dive buddies, or simply escaping the everyday? We'd love to hear your reason. 🌊💙

Who else is addicted to dive gear? 🙋‍♂️🙋‍♀️

We're pretty sure Ben and Kane are quietly competing to see who can own the most BCDs. If you ask them, though, they'll tell you there's absolutely no competition... and that each one has a very specific purpose.

Apparently it's not a collection — it's "one for every occasion." 😆

Whether you're a gear minimalist or a certified gear addict, we'd love to know: how many BCDs is too many?
