🏏 PLAYER ANNOUNCEMENT 🏏

A WEBB IS BACK… AND HE’S BRINGING ANOTHER ONE WITH HIM. 👀

We’re excited to welcome Brett “Webby” Webb back to LDCC for the 2026/27 season, where he’ll take on the role of A Reserve Captain.

Webby played all his junior cricket at LDCC, lining up in the Under 13s and Under 16s, before progressing into the senior ranks. Cricket at LDCC runs in the family too, with his dad Gordon and uncle David both pulling on the colours before him.

After many years away from Laane Dunolly, Webby is back — and this time, he’s bringing the next generation with him.

We’re also excited to announce that Brett’s son, Archie Webb, will be taking the field for LDCC this season. 🏏

That makes Archie the third generation of Webb to play for the club, following in the footsteps of his dad Brett and his grandfather Gordon. 💙

A pretty bloody cool piece of LDCC history and we’re stoked to have the Webb name back around the club.

🏏 PLAYER ANNOUNCEMENT 🏏

INTRODUCING OUR NEW SKIP, SAM BARTLETT. 🫡🏏

We’re bloody excited to have Sam back in the LDCC colours for the 2026/27 season, stepping into the role of A Grade Captain.

While it’s a new captaincy role at LDCC, Sam brings plenty of leadership experience to the job. He’s previously captained both club and MDCA Rep sides across Bendigo and Melbourne Country Week, and in 2026 led the MDCA Melbourne Country Week side to a Grand Final, securing the association’s elevation to the Provincial division, believed to be the first time since the 1960's. 👏

And the bloke can play a bit too. As an all-rounder, Sam has a Ken Gibbs Medal to his name and took out the MDCA Batting Average last season.

There’s plenty of leadership, experience and all-round ability coming back into the side.

We’re bloody stoked to have Sam back and can’t wait to see him take the reins this season.

A little late getting this one out but we’re officially ready to get the 2026/27 cricket season underway! 💙💛

We’d love to see plenty of familiar faces back at the club, and plenty of new ones joining us too.

Come down, have a hit, meet the coaches, catch up with teammates and get stuck into another season of cricket at LDCC.

Whether you’re playing, thinking about playing, or just want to come down and support the club. Everyone is welcome.

THE MAN. THE MYTH. THE LEGEND. TOM HANNETT. 👑

We’re bloody excited to announce that Tom Hannett will be back in the LDCC colours for the 2026/27 season — this time taking on the role of Vice Captain.

After captaining the side last season, Tom is taking a slight step back this year due to work commitments, but thankfully we’re not letting him get too far away! 😂

Tom brings proven ability with the bat, plenty of experience and a whole lot of leadership back into the squad.

And if you needed any more proof of what he can do… Tom is a Ken Gibbs Medalist, taking out the award in 2024/25. 🏆

We’re stoked to have him back and can’t wait to see what he brings this season.

🏏 WELCOME TO LDCC, ARSALAN EUBAID! 🏏

We’re excited to welcome Arsalan Eubaid from Adelaide, South Australia to the LDCC family as both a player and club coach for the 2026/27 season!

Arsalan joins us from Adelaide Turf Cricket Club and brings plenty of experience both on and off the field, including his experience as a Cricket Australia Level 2 qualified coach and through his own cricket academy.

We’re incredibly excited to have Arsalan on board and can’t wait to see the knowledge and experience he brings to our players this season.

👉 Head down to LDCC on Thursday 24 September to meet Arsalan, get to know the new coach and kick off the season together!

🏏 PLAYER ANNOUNCEMENT 🏏

We’re thrilled to announce that Matt Smith will be back in the LDCC colours this season!

After an incredible seven years as club coach, Matt leaves behind one hell of a record, taking our A Grade side to finals in all seven seasons, including 6 Grand Final appearances and 5 premierships. 🏆

And as if that wasn’t enough, Matt also captained the A Grade side for 6 of those 7 years.

His other silverware includes:
🏆 6x One Day Premierships
🏆 2x T20 Premierships

But the numbers only tell part of the story.

Matt has given an enormous amount to this club over the past seven years; his time, knowledge, energy and most importantly, his belief in the players and people around him. He’s helped shape not just successful teams, but a club culture we’re incredibly proud of.

We can’t thank you enough Matt, for everything you’ve done for LDCC. We’re pretty bloody lucky to have had you leading the club for the past seven years, and even luckier that you’re not going anywhere just yet!

Now it’s time to see Matt back out on the field as a player, and we couldn’t be happier to have him with us.
